Low-Noise Air Pump for Aquaria
Dear aquarist, thank you for choosing the quiet Bubble Air Pump aquarium air pump, another high quality
product from HOBBY. With the Bubble Air Pump aquarium air pump you can supply your aquarium with additional
essential oxygen. With its powerful and durable diaphragm construction the low-noise aquarium air pump has been
designed for optimum comfort and many different applications. Here the HOBBY Aquaristik range offers a wide choice
of airstones, flexible diffusers, Rainbow Air Stones, air diffusers with LEDs, air hoses and distributors, and many other useful
accessories. Before putting your Bubble Air Pump aquarium air pump into service, please read the instructions for use
carefully.
Installation and start-up:
1. The Bubble Air Pump aquarium air pump must be placed on a solid and dust-free surface outside the aquarium.
The vibration-reducing rubber feet help to minimise the resonances and therefore the noise level. The pump should
always be placed on an anti-slip surface to prevent the pump from moving due to its own vibration. As an alternative,
the aquarium air pump can also be mounted directly to the wall next to or underneath the aquarium. We recommend
installing a reflux valve to prevent the backflow of water into the device. The Aqua Control safety valve (item no.: 11910)
is commercially available as an accessory.
Important: The pump must only be installed in a way that ensures there is absolutely no risk of it falling into
the aquarium as this would cause an electric shock.
2. Then connect the pump to an airstone or similar commercially available accessory using a suitable aquarium air hose.
If only one accessory component is to be connected to the aquarium air pumps Bubble Air Pump 300 and Bubble
Air Pump 400, which are equipped with two air outputs, the two outputs can be connected by means of the
T-piece. Models with two air outputs should not be operated with one output running "idle", i. e. without a hose and
airstone being connected. This increases the noise level and results in more intensive wear of the diaphragm.
3. Plug in the mains connector to start operation of the aquarium air pump.
Regulating the air supply: You can install hose clamps (item no.: 61840) – available from you specialist – to regulate
the air supply.
Safety instructions: Always disconnect the mains plug before you carry out any work in the aquarium – particularly
in the water – when replacing water or carrying out maintenance on the aquarium air pump. Only a qualified technician
may carry out repairs on the pump's electrical components.
Tip: HOBBY offers a wide range of airstones, ceramic air diffusers, flexible air diffusers, Rainbow Air Stones, air
bubblers with LEDs, air hoses and distributors, and many other useful accessories. Your specialist dealer will be
happy to offer advice.
Replacing the diaphragm: The diaphragm of the Bubble Air Pump aquarium air pump is subject to natural wear.
A diminishing performance without the airstones being blocked indicates a defective diaphragm. The replacement
diaphragms for the different Bubble Air Pump aquarium air pumps are available under the following item numbers:
· item no.: 00694 Bubble Air Pump 100
· item no.: 00695 Bubble Air Pump 150 und 300
