•
Check the hose for damage and leaks. Replace the hose if it leaks, has kinks, the reinforced cover
is visible or it has blisters or bulges higher than 1 mm. In case of doubt always contact the Holmatro
dealer who can assess the seriousness of the damage.
•
Replace the hose no later than 10 years after the date of manufacture, regardless of its use and
external appearance. The date of manufacture is part of the test code, the first 4 digits of the test
code specify the date of manufacture of the hose (yymm*****).

Wedge
Apart from a grease nipple, the tool is also supplied with a grease gun and lubricant. To ensure that the
wedge remains in good condition and the tool is being utilised to the maximum of its capacity, it is
important to grease the wedge regularly. If it is not kept adequately lubricated, the tool will not last as
long and increased friction can reduce part of its lifting capacity.
Normal grease procedure
•
Remove the grease nipple (Fig. 10) from the hand grip.
•
Install the grease nipple into the greasing channel (Fig. 11/1) on the top plate.
•
Place the grease gun on the nipple and apply new grease in the upper section of the wedge.
•
Place the grease nipple in its location on the underside (Fig. 12/1).
•
Place the grease gun on the nipple and apply new grease in the under section of the wedge.
Alternative grease procedure during use
•
Let the wedge (while coupled to a pump) come out completely.
•
Spread grease on the sliding top and bottom surfaces (Fig. 13) of the wedge.
•
Let the wedge drop back.
8.4.6
Guiding pins
The guiding pins have to be greased every time the tool is used.
•
Put some lubricant in the holes (Fig. 14).
