1.2 Handling and maintenance
The torch Adalit does not need any sort of systematic maintenance given
that its battery is conceived as being of "ZERO MAINTENANCE" type.
During its useful life, it is only necessary to complete one charging cycle
whenever its services are required. No type of liquid must be added, nor is
it necessary to maintain or verify any electrolyte level. Only the bulbs are
subject to being handled for their replacement, given that they run down
with use. With the minimum of care that should be shown equipment of
these characteristics, the remainder of the components should be long las-
ting and reliable.
1.3 Initial checking
The torch is supplied without being charged, and its proper functioning has
been previously both revised and checked. Nevertheless, and in the event of
later faults that may occur due to mishandling during storage or transport, the
following checks should be carried out:
1. Check the state of the torch. No flaw should be observed.
2. Subject the torch to a charging cycle with the charge equipment. Having
done this the torch will be ready for use.
1.4 Instructions for general use
Once the proper functioning of the torch received has been verified, and to get
the greatest return out of the same, the following instructions should be taken
into consideration:
1. The torch must be kept perfectly clean, special attention being paid, in this
sense, to the lens. The dirt, which may accumulate in the latter, can seriously
impair lighting performance.
To clean the various components the following products should be used:
a) Torch body and head piece:
Household detergent diluted in lukewarm water, or lukewarm soap water, to
be applied with a soft cloth. (Do not submerge the lamp in water.)
Do not use turpentine, cleaning materials with a dissolvent base or chlorised
liquid cleaners (for example, trichlorethylene or solvents with an organic base).
b) Protection lens:
Household detergent diluted in lukewarm water, or lukewarm soap water, to
be applied with a soft cloth.
Do not use any abraseive product or cloth or any component that might
scratch the protection lens.
3. Reflector
This component must be handled with the utmost care, given that any action
on its surface could seriously affect the lamps lighting capacity. We do not
recommend that this piece be cleaned in any way, it being much more advi-
sable to replace the piece if necessary.
2. Mechanical deterioration of any torch component: breakage, wear, etc,
requires the replacement of the component mentioned.
1.5. Assembly and disassembly (see pages 14-15)
a) Headpiece
To reach inside the headpiece in order to check or change some of its con-
tents follow the instructions below:
1. Loosen the closing screw (LC.10) till the non-threaded tip of the screw
comes out from the groove where it was placed.
2. Loosen and remove the bezel (306).
3. Remove the protecting glass (307) and the rubber washer (LB.61).
4. Remove the optical assembly (24307.G, 329 (2), 359.E, 360.E).
- Now any component which might need to be changed is accessible.
- It is recommended to replace component LB.61 each time the head piece
is opened.
