Hydraulic installation

HYDRAULIC INSTALLATION MUST ALWAYS BE CARRIED OUT BY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL TO THE HIGHEST
STANDARD AND IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE REGULATIONS IN FORCE IN THE COUNTRY OF INSTALLATION
AND FULLY IN LINE WITH THE CONTENTS OF THE FOLLOWING CHAPTER. Efiamma DECLINES ANY LIABILITY
FOR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY OR PEOPLE, OR IN CASE OF PRODUCT FAILURE IF THIS WARNING IS NOT
OBSERVED.

Closed vessel system safety device

According to UNI 10412-2: 2009 standard applicable in Italy, closed systems must be equipped with:
Safety valve
Circulator control thermostat
Acoustic alarm activation thermostat
Temperature indicator
Pressure indicator
Acoustic alarm
Automatic thermal control switch
Automatic thermal lockout switch (safety lockout thermostat)
Circulation system
Expansion system (expansion vessel)
Safety dissipative system embedded in the generator - with a thermal discharge valve (self-actuated) if the equipment does not have
a temperature self-regulating system.

Safety devices for open vessel systems

According to UNI 10412-2: 2009 standard applicable in Italy, open expansion vessel systems must be equipped with:
• Open expansion vessel
• Safety pipe
• Charge pipe
• Circulator control thermostat (not included for natural circulation systems)
• Circulator system (not included for natural circulation systems)
• Acoustic alarm activation device
• Acoustic alarm
• Temperature indicator
• Pressure indicator
• Automatic thermal lockout switch (safety lockout thermostat)
Some of these components may be already installed on the machine. Check whether they are installed and, if necessary, integrate them.

Installation tips

The hydraulic system must comply with the regulations in force in the place, region, state where it is located. Installation and
operational checks must be carried out by qualified personnel, authorised to certify installation.
The heating system must be dimensioned appropriately depending on the power of the thermostat.
It is recommended to rely on a thermo technician.
After placing the thermo-stove and installed all the smoke exhaust pipes, the hydraulic system can be connected. It is advisable to connect
the thermo-stove to the system by using ball or gate valves, through which disconnection is also made easier.
It is necessary to check whether the volume of the expansion vessel, fitted as standard on the thermo-stove, is sufficient to compensate for
the total volume of water contained in the system. If this is not the case, you will need to install an additional expansion vessel.
The thermo-stove is set to operate in a CLOSED VESSEL system. If your system is an OPEN VESSEL one, please contact an Efiamma
Technical Support Centre to change the setting in the reserved menu.

Loading the hydraulic system

Before proceeding with connection, it is strongly recommended that the system be thoroughly washed!
The hydraulic system must be in COLD loaded at a maximum pressure of 1 bar. When filling the thermo-stove, check that the automatic
vent valve is properly operating, that is properly expelling the system air. Venting the system through the valves on the radiators may also
be necessary during the loading phase and in the first operating hours The HOT circuit pressure must never exceed 2 bar. If this occurs, it
may be due to an insufficient overall volume of the expansion vessels.
FILLING MUST BE CARRIED OUT LOADING THE SYSTEM UP TO 1 BAR WITH COLD WATER. PERIODICALLY
CHECK WATER PRESSURE ON THE DISPLAY WITH THE CIRCUIT IN BOTH A COLD AND HOT CONDITION.
