performance do not expose equipment to temperatures
of 65°C [150°F] or higher. Protect hoses and cylinders
from weld spatter.
DANGER: Do not handle pressurized
hoses. Escaping oil under pressure can
penetrate the skin, causing serious injury. If
oil is injected under the skin, see a doctor immediately.
WARNING: Only use hydraulic cylinders in a
coupled system. Never use a cylinder with
unconnected
becomes extremely overloaded, components can fail
catastrophically causing severe personal injury.
WARNING: BE SURE SETUP IS STABLE
BEFORE LIFTING LOAD. Cylinders should
be placed on a fl at surface that can support
the load. Where applicable, use a cylinder
base for added stability. Do not weld or otherwise
modify the cylinder to attach a base or other support.
Avoid situations where loads are not
directly centered on the cylinder plunger.
Off -center loads produce considerable
strain on cylinders and plungers. In addition, the load
may slip or fall, causing potentially dangerous results.
Distribute the load evenly across the entire
saddle surface. Always use a saddle to
protect the plunger.
IMPORTANT: Hydraulic equipment must
only be serviced by a qualifi ed hydraulic
technician. For repair service, contact the
Authorized ENERPAC Service Center in your
area. To protect your warranty, use only ENERPAC oil.
WARNING: Immediately replace worn or
damaged parts by genuine ENERPAC parts.
Standard grade parts will break causing
personal
injury
ENERPAC parts are designed to fi t properly and
withstand high loads.
3.0 VALVE DESCRIPTION & FEATURES
This valve assembly is specifi cally designed for
stressing jacks with the power seating function:
a. The valve is equipped with a positive locking
feature in the advance/stressing position only.
This means that movement of the load will not
be permitted when the handle is moved between
the stressing position and the neutral/hold holding
position.
b. The neutral/hold position of the valve allows oil to
fl ow from the pump back to the tank.
c. The valve has a fi xed power seating pressure ratio
of 2:1 or 50% of stressing pressure. For example,
if stressing pressure is 7,500 psi [517 bar] then
seating pressure will be 3,750 psi [258 bar]. A
factory set pressure limiting valve limits the power
retract/seating pressure to 6,500 psi +/-500 psi
[448 +/-35 bar].

d. The valve is equipped with an integral user-
adjustable relief valve. The relief valve is factory
set to 10,000 psi +500/-0 psi.
4.0 HYDRAULIC CONNECTIONS
1. Use Enerpac hi-fl ow or fl ush face couplers for
best results.
2. Connect hoses to valve at designated port
locations (see Figure 3). If using pipe sealants on
male pipe threads, use sparingly and never over
ends of fi ttings where it can be torn loose and get
into system.
3. If using an Enerpac stressing jack equipped with
the optional power seating feature, install the
required fi ttings in the valve "B" port (see Figure 4).
5.0 OPERATION
1. Connect and secure hoses and cylinders noting
that the proper ports are connected (see Figures 3
and 4). Quick disconnects must be fully engaged
and locking collars drawn up fully to ensure
free fl ow of oil between valve and attached
component.
2. Valve positions are shown below (see Figure 1):
3. To operate:
a. Be sure that valve handle is in the neutral/hold
("3") position. Start the pump.
b. Rotate the valve handle to the advance/
stressing ("1") position, resulting in the
pressurizing of the stressing or "pull" side of
the jack up to 10,000 psi +500/-0 psi [700
+35/-0 bar] maximum.
c. Rotate valve handle to the neutral/hold ("3")
position. The stressing pressure will remain
held and can only be released by building
pressure on the power seating/retract-side as
described in the following step.
d. Rotate valve handle to the retract/seating ("2")
position. The power seating/retract-side of the
jack will start to build pressure. Upon reaching
50% of stressing pressure, the stressing
side ("A" port) pressure will then be allowed
to release and retract the jack. The power
seating/retract "B" port is protected from
over pressurization by limiting the pressure to
6,500 +/-500 psi [448 +/-35 bar].
e. After the jack is fully retracted, stop the pump
and rotate the valve handle to the advance/
stressing ("1") position. This will allow the
power seating cylinder to fully retract.
f.
After the power seating cylinder is fully
retracted, rotate the valve handle back to the
neutral/hold ("3") position.
6.0 RELIEF VALVE ADJUSTMENT
The valve assembly is equipped with a user-adjustable
relief valve. Adjust pressure as follows:
1. Install a 0-15,000 psi [0-1,035 bar] gauge in the
"A" port (see Figure 3).
2. Install a 3/8" pipe plug in the "B" port and torque
to 25 ft-lbs.
3. Loosen the relief valve locknut to permit
adjustment of set screw (see Figure 2).
