HYDRAULIC CONNECTION
FLUSHING THE SYSTEM
Fit suitable gate shut-off valves to the heating system piping.
To protect the heat system from corrosive damage,
encrustations or deposits, it is important, before installation of
the appliance, to flush the system. This must be carried out in
accordance with UNI-CTI 8065, using suitable products such
as, for example, Sentinel X300 (new systems), X400 and X800
(old systems) or Fernox Cleaner F3.
Complete instructions are provided with the products but,
for further information, you can contact the manufacturers
SENTINEL PERFORMANCE SOLUTIONS LTD or
FERNOX COOKSON ELECTRONICS direct.
After flushing the system, to protect it against corrosion and
deposits, we recommend using inhibitors such as Sentinel
X100 or Fernox Protector F1.
It is important to check the concentration of the inhibitor after
each system modification and during each maintenance check,
following the manufacturer's instructions (suitable tests are
available at retailers).
The safety valve bleed must be connected to a collection funnel
to channel any purging during intervention.
Information:
Failure to flush the heating system or to add an adequate
inhibitor invalidates the warranty of the equipment and of
other accessories such as pumps and valves, for example.
FILLING THE SYSTEM
Filling must be done slowly so as to allow air bubbles to
come out through the appropriate vents, located on the heating
system.
For closed circuit heating systems, the load pressure of the
system in a cold state and the pre-inflation pressure of the
expansion tank must be the same.
• In open vessel heating systems, direct contact between the
circulating liquid and the air is enabled.
During the heating season, the end user must regularly check
the level of circulating water in the expansion tank.
The recirculation system water content must be constantly
maintained.
Regular monitoring of the water level should be carried out
every 14 days to maintain an almost constant water content.
If additional water is required it must the filling process
must be carried out, when the boiler stove is cooled to room
temperature.
These precautions are designed to prevent the onset of thermal
stress in the steel body of the boiler.
• In systems equipped with an expansion tank, the water
pressure in the stove boiler - when the system is cold - must not
be lower than 0.3 bar;
• The water used for filling the heating system must be
decontaminated and contain no air.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Caution!
Do not mix the heating water with anti-freeze or anti-
corrosion agents in the wrong concentrations!
This can damage the seals and cause noises to occur during
operation.
The manufacturer is not liable in the event of damage to
people or property caused by failure to comply with the
above.
Once all the hydraulic connections are in place, proceed to
verification of the pressure seals, by filling the boiler.
This operation must be carried out with caution, adhering to the
following steps:
• open the air release valves on the radiators, boiler, and in the
system;
• gradually open the system water tap, making sure that any
automatic air vent valves installed in the system are working
properly;
• close the vent valves on the radiators as soon as water leaks
out;
• check on the built-in system manometer that the pressure
reaches about 1 bar (only applies to closed vessel systems -
check local regulations or standards to ensure that they allow
it); for open vessel systems, water make-up is automatic via
the vessel itself;
• close the system water tap and then again release the air
through the air release valves on the radiators;
• check the tightness of all connections;
• after having carried out the first boiler ignition, and brought
the system up to temperature, stop the pump operation and
repeat the air venting operations;
• allow the system to cool and, if necessary, restore water
pressure to 1 bar (only applies to closed vessel systems -
check local regulations or standards to ensure that they allow
it); for open vessel systems, water make-up is automatic via
the vessel itself
