6. MAINTENANCE
Pressure control valve
1. Before each use, check that the steam outlets are clean and not obstructed.
2. Always clean the pressure control valve as follows: first turn the pressure control valve anticloc-
kwise to the position in fig. 12 (left image, which is the pressure release position), then continue
turning it anticlockwise to the position in figure 12 (right image, which is the removal for cleaning
position). When the pressure control valve is clean, reinsert it in the same position used to remove
it, lift the pressure control valve slightly, and turn it clockwise until the pressure control valve is
securely in place.
Safety valve
Before each use, use a toothpick or another thin stick to check if the steel ball bearings move
properly, because the safety valve will only work properly if the ball bearings move properly. If the
safety valve starts moving while you are cooking (steam comes out of the safety valve), turn off
the heat source to reduce the pressure inside the cooker until the red indicator drops, then open
the lid and clean the safety valve. When you have made sure that the safety valves are not obs-
tructed and steel ball bearings work properly, you can start using the pressure cooker again.
Sealing Gasket
1. Never put the lid and the sealing gasket in the dishwasher.
2. Never close the cooker lid when not in use.
3. The sealing gasket can be subject to wear and tear, so you should change it at least one a year.
