TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM
Pump runs,
but no water is
discharged.
Motor runs too hot. 1. Voltage incorrect.
Flow rate is low.
Pump will not run.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
1. Hose kinked.
2. Defective pump.
3. Discharge height too great.
4. Clogged inlet.
5. Low line voltage.
6. Impeller is clogged.
7. Garden hose diameter is too small or
too long.
2. Restricted discharge hose.
3. Pump damaged.
4. Plugged or kinked discharge.
1. Hose kinked.
2. Clogged impeller.
3. Excessive length of hose.
1. No power.
2. Motor overheated.
3. Blown fuse or circuit breaker.
4. Low line voltage.
5. Defective motor.
6. Water level is too low.
7. GFCI needs to be reset.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1. Straighten hose.
2. Replace pump.
3. Reduce discharge height.
4. Clean inlet.
5. Call power company.
6. Unplug pump and clean out
impeller.
7. Use larger diameter garden hose
or 1 in. flexible pipe.
1. Connect to 115 volt GFCI outlet.
2. Increase hose diameter to 3/4-in.
3. Replace pump.
4. Clean and straighten hose.
1. Straighten hose.
2. Clear obstruction.
3. Reduce length of outlet hose.
1. Verify that unit is plugged into 115
volt GFCI outlet.
2. Motor has automatic thermal
protector. Wait 15 minutes for
motor to cool.
3. Reset the circuit breaker or replace
fuse with a fuse of the proper size.
4. Call power company.
5. Replace pump.
6. Allow the water level to rise to
1-3/4 in. or more.
7. Press reset button on GFCI outlet.
