Important Safeguards
READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING
When
using
electrical
precautions should always be followed, including the
following:
1. The power cord on this product is not replaceable by
the user. If it is damaged it must only be replaced by a
qualified electrician.
2. This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible
for their safety.
3. Boiling water and steam can cause serious burns.
Always place the appliance on a stable, flat surface.
4. Only use with the power base supplied.
5. Before connecting to the power outlet make sure that
the voltage indicated on the rating label, located on the
bottom of the power base, is the same as the supply
voltage in your home. If not, do not use the appliance and
return it to your dealer.
6. To prevent electrical hazards, never put the kettle or
power base in water or any other liquid, and do not allow
water to enter the electrical parts.
7. Keep the kettle and its power cord out of the reach of
children and pets. Close supervision is required when the
appliance is used near children.
8. The exterior of the appliance will get very hot during
use. Always take care when handling. Never lift the
appliance by the lid. Always use the handle.
9. Always ensure the appliance is switched off before
removing from the power base and unplugged from the
socket before cleaning or when not in use.
10. Beware of steam being emitted from the spout or lid,
especially during refilling.
11. This appliance is intended for normal household use
only. It must not be used for anything other than its
intended purpose.
12. Do not use this appliance outdoors.
13. Do not place the appliance on or near any potentially
hot surfaces e.g. oven hobs.
14. Do not allow the power cord to overhang from work
surfaces, or to touch hot surfaces or to become knotted.

15. Do not operate this appliance if the power cord or
plug are damaged, or if the appliance malfunctions or is
damaged in anyway. Check the power cord regularly for
signs of damage/wear.
16. Do not open the lid whilst the kettle is boiling.
17. Do not fill the kettle above the MAX mark. Boiling
water may splash out if overfilled.
18. To avoid possible steam damage, turn spout away
from walls and do not use under cabinets.
19. The appliance contains no user-serviceable parts.
This appliance is intended to be used in household and
similar applications such as: staff kitchen areas in shops,
offices and other working environments; farm houses;
by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type
environments; bed and breakfast type environments.
