Audible continuity test
Connect the red test cable to the VΩmAhFE
socket and connect the black test cable to
the COM socket.
Turn the function selector to the " " symbol.
Connect test leads to two points of circuit to
be tested. If the resistance is less than 30 Ω
± 20 Ω, the buzzer will sound.
Measuring diodes
Connect the red test cable to the VΩmAhFE
socket and connect the black test cable to
the COM socket.
Turn the function selector to the diode
symbol.
Place the red test cable on the diode's
anode and place the black test cable on the
diode's cathode.
The voltage drop over the diode will appear
in the display. If the test cables are placed
incorrectly, "1" will appear in the display.
Measuring transistors
Insert the positive pin of the multi-function
adapter (8) into the VΩmAhFE socket and
the negative pin into the COM socket.
Turn the function selector to position hFE.
Before the test, determine if the transistor
is NPN or PNP. Determine which pin is the
emitter, base and collector respectively.
Place the pins in the correct sockets on the
multi-function adapter.
The display shows the approximate value
of the base current direction at 10 µA and
Vce 2,8 V.
Note! In order to avoid the risk of electric
shock, remove the test cables from the
multimeter before measuring a transistor.
Replacing battery and fuse
If the battery symbol appears in the display,
the battery needs replacing.
If the multimeter does not function, replace
the fuse.
Remove both test cables from the
multimeter.
Remove the two screws at the back of the
multimeter, and remove the rear panel.
Replace the battery and/or fuse. Check that
the battery is correctly fi tted.
Replace the rear panel.
Cleaning and maintenance
Wipe the multimeter regularly with a well-
wrung cloth.
Avoid using abrasive or aggressive cleaning
agents.
