COMMISSIONING THE MICROPHONES
Microphone configuration
It is necessary to check that the ROOM and the identifier are correct on the microphones and select the
desired operating mode. In addition, the SCI-760P mod. also allows you to activate/deactivate the chime
associated with the priority.
To change the configuration, with the microphone completely switched off, you must make a long press
on the red power button and the MUTE button simultaneously. Then, you can then press the VOL-/VOL+
buttons to change the value and MUTE to save and move to the next setting. When you have finished the
configuration, press the ON/OFF button on the microphone or the power button on the side to exit the config
mode.
-
ROOM: set this value to match the one set on the main unit.
ID: all microphones in the system must have a unique identifier. Chairman microphones may have an
-
ID between 0 to 9 and A to F (16 values in total), on the display next to the word CHAIR; and delegate
microphones between 0 and 255 (256 values in total), on the display next to the word UnitID.
CHIME (chairman microphones only): activate or deactivate chime tone.
-
OPERATING MODE: LINK (default) and FREE.
-
+ LINK: the microphone communicates with the main unit to request to activate/deactivate the microphone
and it is the main unit which manages the assignment of the transmission channels.
+ FREE: the microphone can be activated/deactivated at any time during communication and the user
can select the transmission channel. To do this, with the microphone deactivated, press MUTE and the
channel will flash on the screen and by means of the VOL- and VOL+ volume buttons you can modify the
value. THIS MODE IS USED FOR TEST PURPOSES ONLY.
TIPS TO OBTAIN BETTER RESULTS
-
Use the batteries provided or replace them with similar ones.
-
Remove obstacles between the receiver and the transmitter.
-
The distance between the receiver and the transmitter must be neither greater nor less than 3 m.
-
The receiver antenna must not be placed near metal surfaces.
-
The microphone capsule must be positioned about 10 to 15 cm away from the mouth of the person who
is speaking.
-
The output signal level cannot be too high or it will cause the signal to distort. On the other hand, if the
output signal is too low, the s/n ratio will decrease and the noise will increase. To adjust the output level
to a correct value, the mixer must be set to a standard level, for example, 0 dB gain, and the conference
system output must be adjusted to ensure that when speaking into the microphone in a loud voice, there
is no distortion.
-
Switch off the microphone after use, and in the case that it is not going to be used for a long period of
time, remove the battery.
