Cardan shaft
When the implement has been coupled to the tractor, check the exact length of the cardan shaft. Very important
is that in the various work positions, the transmission tubes must be inserted into each other to a length of at least
100 mm (Fig.2.1). Repeat these actions whenever the implament is attached to another tractor.
When connecting (inserting) the cardan shaft make sure that the bolt or button on the two sides are locked
(Fig.2.3.A).
Attentio: the shaft guards must always be in good condition and immobile during rotation. Immobilization is ensured
by the use of the small chains provided.
For you own safety, replace the protection pieces as soon as they are damaged. The guards can be used as a
support for the cardan shaft rather then resting it on the ground when the machine is not in use.
NOTE: make sure that when you mount the cardan on the machine, the protective cover of the cardan overlaps
the protective casing of the machine itself by at least 50 mm (Fig.2.2).

Adjusting the working depth
The working depth is adjusted by means of the control lever of the adjustment roller (Fig.1 - Ref.C).
By selecting a hole on the rod in which to insert this pin, it is possible to vary the working depth from 0 to 16 cm.
It is important for the operator to leave the machine resting on its roller while working.
Levelling
Levelling is performed by the front scraper (Fig.1 - Ref.A); it may be adjusted based on the preset working depth
by manually turning the two special screws (Fig.1 - Ref.D) provided for this purpose. For best levelling result, make
sure that there is always soil in front of the scraper while working.
NOTE: the levelling scraper is an accessory which drags earth already loosened by another machine or the same
machine. If this were not the case, the scraper would be unable to perform the job for which it is built and it could
be ruined. Therefore, when working on hard ground the sraper must be fully raised.
Maintenance
Operation to be periodically carried out in order to maintain the machine in good working condition:
1. Check the parallels of the tractor so that they do not create transverse oscillations.
2. Grease the roller supports (Fig.5 - Ref.A).
3. Grease the cross wheels of the cardan shaft (Fig.2.3.B) with two injections, checking their sliding.
4. Check the level of oil in the reduction casing (Fig.6 - Ref.A); this operation must be carried out before beginning
to work.
5. Check the tightness of all bolts on the hoes and make sure that they are not damaged. Should they accidentally
break while working, we recommend to stop working immediarely and replace them (see the chapter headed
"Replacement of hoes").
6. Grease abundantly every six months the gearing chain by the suitable cap as to (Fig.7 - Ref.A).
