3 - INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
For the sizing of the optical fiber system, the optical level of the input signal to the RXFO-IFTV and
RXFO-IFTVM receivers must be taken into account and therefore the optical attenuation of the sec-
tion since the optical power output to the TXFO-IFTV transmitter is fixed (+9 dBm typical). The RX-
FO-IFTV and RXFO-IFTVM receivers guarantee an adequate level of the TV and SAT output signal if
the optical input signal is respectively between -10 ÷ +3 dBm and -6 ÷ 0 dBm optical and if the RF
input signal all'TXFO-IFTV complies with the indications given on the product label. In the catalog
there are dividers and shunts with different attenuations (in passage and in derivation) which allow
to optimize the systems, especially in classic cascade distributions, in order to obtain a correctly
received optical signal level.
ATTENTION:
• Direct connections between TXFO-IFTV and RXFO-IFTV and RXFO-IFTVM are not allowed, unless
suitable optical line attenuators are used.
• It is essential to use an optical signal meter to check the optical input level to the RXFO-IFTV and
RXFO-IFTVM and to avoid damaging the receiving photodiode.
• If the input signals do not have optimal quality or in the case of distribution of a large number of
signals to a large number of sockets, it is advisable to reduce the optical budget or to use profes-
sional series dividers with SC / APC connectors
