5. Commissioning, operation
The welding or soldering of the remote capillary, as well as all permanent fixing of
the remote capillary, should be avoided, since this can seriously damage the remote
capillary and can impair the operation of the instrument.
If this is not possible, the limit values must not be exceeded.

5.4
Mounting the measuring line
The smallest bending radius of the measuring line should not be less than 6 mm.
Bending or interruption of the measuring line lead to failure of the instrument.
If there are shocks or vibrations at the installation site of the probe, form several
freely swinging loops between the last fixing point and the probe. Any excess length
must also be coiled, since cutting the measuring line would render the instrument
unserviceable.
Avoid welding or soldering and permanent fastening of the measuring line as
this could seriously damage the measuring line and impair the operation of the
instrument.
The measuring line should not be installed close to cold or heat sources.
5.5
Case mounting
The case ingress protection is indicated on the product label and must be observed
during installation.
5.6
Electrical connection
The electrical connection must only be made by qualified skilled personnel.
Connect the switch via screw terminals.
Screw terminal: Conductor cross-section max. 1.5 mm² (always use end splices if
flexible stranded wires are used).
The pin assignment is stated on the product label of the thermometer.
The instruments do not provide for incorporated overcurrent protectors.
In order to prevent the contacts from welding through overload, suitable
protection systems must be implemented by the operator.
5.7
Indicator check
Indicator checks should only be carried out in comparison with a more accurate
instrument or, if possible, with a calibrated instrument. The temperature during the check
must remain constant.
Fluctuating temperatures can lead to reading errors caused by the different response
times of the probes.
With thermometers without thermowells, with a full and correct insertion length, a
minimum waiting time of 5 minutes must be maintained for temperature equalisation.
