What's Included:
• Front Loading Panel (1)
• Plastic Bezels (48)
• Hardware Kit (1)
- 12-24 x 0.5 in. Rack Screws (4)
- Star Washers (4)
- 8-32 x 0.25 in. Ground Screw (1)
• Rear Cable Management Bar (1)
You Will Need:
For jack removal, a slim blade slotted screwdriver of 3/16 in.
or smaller bit size is recommended.
Installation
Installing from the panel front:
1.
If installed, remove QuickPort bezels from the panel positions that will be added, by
pinching the upper and lower latches and pulling straight out.
2.
For unterminated cables: Route cables to patch panel and through each panel
position to panel front. Allow for sufficient cable slack at the front of the panel for ease
of termination.
For pre-terminated cables:
Route terminated cables to patch-panel.
Guide each terminated jack through
the corresponding panel position until
approximately 6 in. of slack is available at the
front of the panel.
3.
For unterminated cables only: Terminate
each cable with desired QuickPort jack
according to that product's instructions.
4.
Install the terminated jack into the bezel by aligning the UP marking on the jack with the
UP marking on the bezel. Angle the bottom of the jack into the bezel opening and snap
the jack into place.
5.
Install the bezel and jack assembly into the corresponding panel position by aligning
the UP marking on the bezel with the top of the panel and snapping into place. Guide
remaining cable slack through panel opening to panel rear at this time.
Installing from the panel rear:
1.
Load the empty QuickPort Bezels into panel front by aligning the UP marking on each
bezel with the top of the panel and snapping into an available panel position.
2.
Route cables to patch panel, then terminate cables with desired QuickPort Jack
according to that product's instructions.
3.
Orient the terminated jack with the UP designation
towards the top of the panel and snap each jack into
the installed QuickPort Bezel. Begin where the cable
originates and progress towards the other end or the
center of the panel.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Patch Panel accommodates all
CAUTIONS:
• Never install communications wiring or components during a lightning storm.
• Never install communications components in wet locations unless the components are
designed specifically for use in wet locations.
• Use caution when installing or modifying communications wiring components.
Cable Management
If using a single management bar, attach it to the upper mounting position on the rear of
the panel. The bar will sit vertically centered behind the panel. Using user-provided hook
and loop straps, bundle and secure the top row cables to the top of the cable management
bar. Bundle and secure the bottom row of cables to the bottom of the cable management
bar. DO NOT compress or over-cinch the cables.
If using two rear management bars, install bars onto both mounting positions. Bundle and
secure the top row of cables to the upper management bar. Bundle and secure the bottom
row of cables to the lower management bar.
Removing the QuickPort Jacks
1.
Remove bezel from panel by pinching the upper and lower latches and pulling
straight out.
2.
Using a slim blade slotted screwdriver (3/16 in. bit size or smaller), insert the driver at
a flat angle between the jack latch and the bezel. As the driver is inserted the jack will
unlatch and can be removed. With smaller screwdrivers a slight upward prying motion
may be needed to free the jack.
IMPORTANT: Using a larger than recommended screwdriver will damage bezel.
Labeling and Port Identification
Port numbering is provided. A user-provided mechanically printed administration label may
also be applied (0.25 in. tape size recommended).
Bonding/Grounding (Earthed)
CAUTION: Bonding with the standoff or star washers only provides grounding of the
metal panel. The modular ports are non-conductive and are electrically isolated from the
communications circuits per UL 1863.
If your local code requires the product to be bonded and/or grounded, use the grounding
standoff (if present) or the supplied star washers. Standoffs use either a #8-32 or #10-32
screw (as provided) and require a ground wire (not supplied). Star washers should be
placed between screw head and panel, and must pierce panel paint to be effective.
