Introduction
The Days Foldable Steel Rollator is a multi-purpose walker manufactured from painted steel tubing with four
20 cm wheels. It incorporates a comfortable rest seat, tray, basket and locking brakes.
This walker also has adjustable handles and can be folded flat for storage or transportation.
First Assembly
1. Push the centre bar of the rear frame to the bottom of the black plastic guides.
2. Fold the black locking latch on the right hand side (fig. 1A) over the bolt and tighten the black
hand knob.
3. Remove the plastic transit inserts from the top of the front frame.
4. Insert the handle tubes into the front frame ensuring that the brake cables are not twisted and
form a bow at the front of the frame.
5. Position the handles at a suitable height for the user and fit the silver bolt, washer and hand knobs
(fig. 1B).Tighten the hand knobs.
6. The tray has 4 pips on the bottom that fit into indentations in the seat.
7. The basket has two hooks at the back that clip over the tube either side of the seat.
Operation
The Days Foldable Steel Rollator is fitted with locking brakes. To apply the brakes pull up on the brake
handles (fig. 2). To lock the brakes push down on both brake handles until they click into the locked position
(fig. 3). To release the brakes simply pull up on the brake handles until they click.
Before using the walker as a rest seat both brakes must be applied and the frame pushed forward to check
that it is not moving. The brakes only lock the back wheels so the user must not expect the frame to be
completely immobile.
If the user finds the brakes hard to apply adjust the pressure of the brake shoes on the rear wheels by using
the adjuster nuts in the centre of the cables. Turn the bottom nut clockwise to decrease the pressure.
Lock the adjustment by turning the locking nut until it is tight against the bottom nut. It is a case of trial and
error to suit individual users' grip strength.
WARNING! Brakes that are adjusted to give light pressure will be less effective at preventing rear wheel
movement under load.
When using the walker be aware that stability depends on all four wheels being in contact with the flat surface.
Care should be taken when negotiating uneven ground, inclines, kerb etc. as stability will inevitably be reduced.
Folding for Storage or Transportation
1. Remove the locking latch from the slot in the back leg (fig. 1A).
2. Pull up on the centre bar of the rear frame to fold.
Cleaning and Maintenance
The Days Foldable Steel Rollator is designed for minimum maintenance. It is manufactured from painted steel tubing and requires the occasional wipe-over with a soft
cloth. Do not use harsh abrasives. Daily, before use, check the effective operation of the brakes. Check that the wheels turn and swivel freely and there is no debris
building around the axle. Periodically check that all screws, nuts and bolts are securely fastened. Check moving parts for wear.
