General information
The ADA S7/IDS adapter forms an IDS pH sensor in conjunction with
a pH electrode with S7 plug-in connector.
The measuring electronics with the stored adapter data is in the
adapter head of the ADA S7/IDS. The data include, among other
things, the adapter type and series number. With each calibration, the
calibration data is written in the adapter and the calibration history is
recorded. The data is recalled by the meter when the adapter is
connected and is used for measurement and for measured value
documentation. Storing the calibration data in the adapter ensures that
the correct slope and asymmetry are automatically used if the sensor
is operated with several meters.
The digital transmission technique guarantees the failure-free commu-
nication with the meter even with long connection cables. If the sensor
firmware is enhanced by WTW, it can be updated via the meter.
Note
More detailed information on the automatic adapter recognition or sen-
sor recognition is given in the operating manual of the meter.
The connected meter uses for measurement the calibration data stored
in the adapter, regardless of the mounted electrode.
Note
Therefore, you have to calibrate the IDS pH sensor each time the
electrode with the S7 plug-in connector has been exchanged.
Otherwise, the IDS pH sensor will work with the calibration data of the
previously used electrode. This could lead to incorrect measured
values. When evaluating the calibration history, please note that in
between calibrations, the electrode might have been exchanged.
