• The equipment must be placed in a flat and stable surface. Due to vibrations, it may fall if placed on a high
surface;
• During operation, the equipment must be kept in an open place, so that the air can flow through the side
slots;
• The welding process generates harmful gases and smokes; therefore, make sure there is enough ventilation
at the work place;
• Make sure the equipment is properly connected to the power supply and do not bend or twist the power
cables ;
• Pay attention to the conditions of the ground cable and rod holder cable. In case of insulation breaking or
oxidation, change the cables immediately;
• Abrasion in the insulation or contact parts with the electrical current may cause risk of electric shock
and lower the quality of the weld;
• The ground clamp must be directly fastened to the part to be welded. Ensure that there is direct con-
tact between the clamp and the part to be welded. Therefore, avoid painted or insulated surfaces;
• The rod holder has a special clamp that maintains the electrode fastened by its end. Make sure the electrode
is properly fastened;
• Stay in a stable position during the welding process;
• Do not use the equipment in wet or slippery floor/ground;
• Never wind the cables of the welding equipment around its housing;
• Never stay between the cable of the rod holder and the ground cable. If the ground cable is on your right, the
ground cable must also be on your right;
• Never use the equipment without the cabinet cover;
• Provide a fire extinguisher for the work place. For further information about the fire extinguisher to be used,
contact your local Fire Brigade;
Avoid direct contact with the welding arc;
• The voltage of the open circuit between the rod holder and the ground cable may be dangerous; therefore,
handle the equipment with care. There is risk of electric shock;
• Do not put or use the equipment in humid or wet environments or exposed to rain;
• Never soak the electrode in water to cool it and keep it in a place free of humidity;
• Arc welding produces sparks, splashes and smokes; therefore, remove all flammable substances or
materials form the work place and surroundings;
• Connect the ground clamp as close as possible to the part to be welded, so that the welding current
can go through the shortest way from the electrode and the ground cable.
• Never connect the ground clamp to the cover of the welding equipment or grounded parts away from the
work piece.
About the operator's and other people's safety:
• If any anomalies or unexpected behavior of the welding equipment occur during operation, immediately
disconnect the equipment from power supply and contact an expert in electricity to help you;
• In case of accident, disconnect the equipment immediately from the power supply and look for a doctor. Do
not try to restart the equipment before sending it to an expert in electricity for an analysis;
• It is not recommended the use of this equipment by people with dent pacemaker.
• When ON, this equipment may cause interference in the operation of the pacemaker. For further information,
refer to a doctor;
