Bear in mind that the owner or user

When working with the unit, use the
safety attachments supplied.
Never use the appliance barefooted
or wearing sandals. Never use the
appliance when wearing loose
clothing that could get caught up in it.
When working, wear long trousers,
safety boots or shoes with non-slip
soles, goggles and a shield
protecting your face from flying
objects, gloves (preferably leather)
and anti-noise ear muffs or helmet.
In work areas where there is a risk of
falling objects, protect your head with
a safety helmet.
Connecting components and cables
must be rubber coated.
Before starting, adjust the handle to
your size.
Do not overreach. Keep proper
footing and balance at all times.
Maintenance and repair operations,
as well as replacement of the cord or
safety devices, must always be
performed with the motor switched
off and the power cable
disconnected from the socket.
Frequently inspect the condition of
the cutting head, All damaged parts
must immediately be replaced.
Follow all the required precautions
when undertaking replacement.
Use only replacement parts recom-
mended by the manufacturer.
All guards must be installed properly
before operating the unit.
Attention ! Danger! The cord head or
the continuous blade continues to
rotate for a few moments after the
switch is released.
Keep unit clean of vegetation and
other materials.
Keep connecting wires away from
the tools.

Turn off the unit and pull the main
plug before set-up or cleaning of the
unit, and before testing for tangled or
damaged wires.
Always disconnect the appliance
from the socket when leaving it
unattended.
Regularly check the cables for
damage or wear. Before use, make
sure that the cable and extension
cable are not damaged or worn. If
the cable is damaged during use, do
not touch it but disconnect it from the
power supply immediately.
The unit must not be used if the con-
necting wires are not in perfect
condition.
The appliance may only be cleaned
and the cord head adjusted with the
motor switched off and the plug
disconnected from the power supply.
Make sure the ventilation slots are
kept clean and unobstructed.
Cord Sets - Make sure your cord set
is in good condition. When using a
cord set, be sure to use a cord that is
heavy enough to carry the current that
your unit wilI draw. An undersized
cord set will cause a drop in line
voltage resulting in power and
overheating. The table (below)
shows the correct size to use
depending on the cord length and
nameplate amperage rating. If in
doubt, use the next heavier size Iine
gauge. The smaller the gauge
number, the heavier the cord.

Only switch on the appliance if your
hands and feet are well away from
the cutting area.
The appliance must be checked and
serviced regularly; repairs may only
be made by an authorised repairman.
