Before using the kettle for the first time:
- Clean the inside of the body (H) and then boil water (at least one time). Throw out
the first water boiled.
- During the first usage, it may release some odours, which is perfectly normal.
Use:
- Unwind the power cord from the power supply base (J).
- Place the power supply base (J) on a flat surface and away from hot surfaces or
flames.
- Open the lid of the kettle (E) pressing the button to open the lid and release the
catch.
- Fill the kettle with water, away from the power supply base (J).
- Never fill past the maximum level indicator, that is, do not fill it with more than 1,7
litres.
- Use the level indicator (G) to see how much water is in the kettle.
- Close the lid (E) completely. Never operate the kettle with the lid open, as the
"Automatic Shut Off" only works with the lid closed.
- Place the kettle on the power supply base (J), being sure it fits snugly into the adapter.
- Press the ON/OFF switch (A) to turn on the kettle. The indicator light (I) comes on,
signalling that the kettle is in operation.
- As soon as the water begins to boil, the kettle shuts off automatically. The indicator
light goes off.
- Remove the kettle from the power supply base, using the handle to move it.
- If you wish to interrupt the heating process and have hot water without
boiling it, simply move the ON/OFF switch to the "0" position. The kettle
turns off automatically (the light goes off).
- If you wish to start heating (reheating) the water, set the kettle on the power
supply base, move the ON/OFF switch to the "I" position to turn the kettle
on (the indicator light comes on).
After the water begins to boil and the kettle shuts off automatically, some drops of water
may appear on the power supply base. This is normal, resulting from the condensation
formed during the operation, and water appears through the holes in the bottom of
the kettle.
Before using the kettle again, remove the plug from the socket and wipe off the water
with a dry, absorbent cloth.
Never turn the kettle on when the power supply base is wet.
Should you accidentally pour water on the power supply base, take the following steps:
- Disconnect the plug from the wall socket.
- Clean the power supply base with a dry, absorbent cloth.
- Clean the surface where the power supply base is sitting.
- Connect the plug to the wall socket and restart the kettle.
If you should accidentally start the kettle without water in it, the safety device that
prevents overheating is activated and shuts the kettle off. In this case, remove the
kettle from the power supply base; let it cool down, fill it with water without going past
the maximum water level indicator; place the kettle on the power supply base and turn
on the kettle again.
Never put cold water into a kettle that is very hot, as there is a danger of getting burnt.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

After every use and before any cleaning operation, always remove the plug from the
wall socket and allow the kettle to cool off. Decalcifying the kettle prolongs its life,
improves the performance of the kettle, reduces the consumption of electricity and
guarantees the proper functioning of the safety system that prevents overheating.
