STAINLESS STEEL TAPPING SADDLES
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1)
Verify pipe O.D. and saddle to ensure proper saddle is
being installed.
2)
Thoroughly clean pipe surface and lubricate both saddle
gasket and pipe surfaces.
LUBRICATE GASKETS THOROUGHLY
3)
Place reference mark on pipe, a measured distance from
the tapping point.
4)
Loosen nuts and raise nuts, washers and washer plate(s)
to top of studs. Open saddle and place it around the pipe,
centered over the tapping point.
5)
Place the studs between the finger lugs on top of the bars
and snap the washer plate over receiver bar.
6)
Using the reference mark, place the saddle on the pipe in
its final position.

7)
Tighten nuts evenly until saddle body conforms to pipe.
Torque nuts as evenly as possible on double bolt saddle.
When applicable, MAINTAIN EVEN GAP BETWEEN
BARS, side to side and end to end.
8)
Tighten nuts using following torque guidelines.

6" – 8"
10" & ABOVE

Correct torque indicated by use of torque wrench.
THIN WALL PVC PIPES MAY REQUIRE LESS TORQUE
AND MAY DEFORM IF OVER TIGHTENED.
FAILURE TO TEST ALL SEALS PRIOR TO BACKFILL
