DIRECTIONS FOR INSTALLATION
The unit must be positioned on a level ground to secure its stability also during operation.
• The installer must feed the machine through previous installation of a multi-polar switch (with magnetothermic
protection or with fuses).
• The installer must make a connection with a unified type plug compatible with the corresponding tap.
• Upstream the tap he must install a differential switch with threshold of intervention at 30 mA.
• The tap must be equipped with ground connection according to the rules of good technique (GEI 64-8).
• The installer will provide the machine will electric cable which must be as follows: be one single piece, have a
protection sheath against abrasions, be stretched out without coming in contact with the machine body and
without undergoing injures by the contact with cutting or abrasive bodies or high temperature.
Before starting the pump check that the belt transmission guard be properly fastened with bolts.
Accident prevention rules and directions for a good operation
Before putting the machine working do the following operations:
• Check that the bolts of the belt transmission guard be properly fastened.
• The employment of electric machines, above all in the presence of water or dampness, requires that
all the regulations be carefully executed.
• Avoid to address water-spouts on the motor and on the other electric parts.
• Carefully wash the machine before and after use.
• Before starting the machine be sure that all the safety devices are installed.
• Before starting the machine be sure that it is placed on level ground and safely secured.
• The by-pass valve must always be shut (level towards the operator) before starting suction.
• Forbidden to displace the machine during working. In the case of need of displacement stop the motor and
disconnect the plug.
• Forbidden trying to reach with hands foreign bodies to get them out of the machine. Do that after
stopping the motor and disconnecting the plug.
• By-pass working: OPEN when the lever is positioned towards the pipe connections (right or
left), CLOSED when the lever is towards the operator.
• The pump must never work idling (liquid less).
• To suck the stemmed grapes always keep the by-pass closed.
• If the motor has difficulty in starting turn the switch contrary wise for a moment and then put it
again to suction position.
• The pump can suck from both directions (right or left).
• For a good maintenance of the impeller, always wash the pump after use and avoid the impellor
keeping steady in contact with the transferred liquids.
• Always check the belt tightness in the pumps with belt transmission.
• In case the pump lies idle for some time, before use care to pump LUKEWARM WATER for few
minute.
• The level of acoustic pressure equivalent pondered A in the spot commonly occupied by the user is lower than
70 dB (A).
• The unit must be lifted and conveyed only through the use of suitable transport means.
ALL THE INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE INTERVENTIONS MUST BE MADE WITH STOPPED
MACHINE AND DISCONNECTED PLUG, IN PARTICULAR THE BELT POSITIONING ON THE PULLEY TO
SELECT SPEED IN THE PUMPS HAVING THIS DEVICE.
Check the equipotential and ground connection of all the metal parts
Check the effectiveness of the differential switch placed upstream the instrument by
operating the trial key
Check that the cable sheath be uninjured
Check that the guard be correctly assembled and the bolts tightly fastened
Check the paint condition; retouch immediately any scraping due to wear to avoid rust
spreading
