Conventional installations with fluorescent tubes required both a starter,
mainly used to heat up the gas inside the tubes when turned on, and a ballast, whether
electromagnetic or electronic, to increase the voltage of the luminary to 1000 V.
For 12/24VDC LED tubes, the ballasts can be left in place as a normal fluorescent tube
operates on 12VDC power. This is not the case with the starters, however, because these
elements don't need any sort of help to boost the temperature of the gas, as LED tubes
don't use gas.
So, to replace florescent tubes with LED tubes, follow the steps below:
Disconnect the fixture, making sure no power is reaching it.
STEP 1.
For fluorescent tubes with either electronic or electromagnetic ballasts,
STEP 2.
just replace the fluorescent to with the LED tube, without modifying the
installation except for removing the starter, which is necessary to do.
Connect the equipment and check that the LED tube turns on without any

problems.
Following are detailed images of how to replace fluorescent tubes with LED tubes,
depending on the type of ballast they have.
