drilled holes. Use touch-up paint recommended by your
vehicle's manufacturer.
5. Reinstall drawers and rubber stoppers by reversing the
procedure in Step 2 (see Figure 3).
Operation —
DO NOT use the unit while the vehicle
is in motion. The unit must be closed
and locked during any vehicle movement. The vehicle
must be parked on level ground before unlocking and
extending the unit.
Check clearances on the initial use
— open the Bed Box to its full
extension, to verify that the vehicle's taillights, quarter
panel or other components will not be damaged.
Verify adequate clearance
before dropping the tailgate; also
verify that swing doors or hatches on vans or SUVs can
be opened without damage.
DO NOT climb, sit or stand on the
Bed Box at any time. Death or severe
personal injury COULD result.
DO NOT work underneath the
Bed Box while it is in the open
position.
Secure Load. Conduct pre-trip
inspection (and during fuel and rest
stops) to verify that the load is secure. Use tie-down
straps rated higher than the weight of the cargo. Place
straps so they pull against each other when tightening.
This will help ensure that the equipment or load is
stabilized to prevent both sideways and front to rear
movement. Different configuration of equipment or
loads will necessitate different tie down points. Some
study will be needed to properly meet this requirement.
Ensure that all pins, latches, gates and ramps are in
place and secured. Please check with local authorities
to be sure you are in compliance. Failure to secure load
may cause the cargo to separate from the Bed Box
during transport, which COULD result in personal injury
or even death.
Bed Box Drawers
Only operate drawers when the vehicle is level. Pull open
the sturdy drawers to store your tools.
T-handle (on standard models) locks with a provided key for
dependable security (see Figure 5). Compression locks (on
all-weather models) provide security and a water tight seal
(see Figure 5).
Bed Box Top Surface
The top surface of the Bed Box can be used for additional
storage (see Figure 6). Load capacity is based on an even
weight distribution (see Chart 1).
