4. RV70U TRIMMING MACHINE APPLICATIONS
WITH THE HARD METAL SAW BLADE:
Equipped with the saw blade, it permits easy trimming
of old wood window frames and crossbeams for their
renovation.
It may also be used to trim the bottoms of doors, frames
and skirting boards, when installing parquet or carpet,
for trimming shadow joints, for cutting ventilation
windows in doors, walls and panels made from wood,
plywood, particle board or plastic materials.
If used in conjunction with guide GRM70S (optional
accessory), it enables trimming old wood frames for
door renovation.
The machine is designed to work at full load with the
maximum cutting depth of 68 mm. However, if you
observe that the machine is performing poorly or that
the overload protection of the machine causes it to stop
too often, this could be due to deterioration of the saw
blade or that it has come across wood that has become
excessively hard over time.
In any of these cases, we recommend reducing the
cutting depth to 34 mm and carrying out the operation
in two stages.
WITH THE DIAMOND-TIPPED BLADE:
Enables old wood window frames to be removed for
renovation. To do this, make a cut in the wall where the
frame is seated, parallel to its front and along its entire
edge (Figs. 2 and 7). This allows you to later cut the jambs
and remove the frame from its housing.
Diamond disk of D.180 7040329 for direct masonry
cutting. It may be used to cut brick, breeze blocks,
terrazzo, clinker, concrete, granite, ceramics, porcelain
and stoneware.
While working with the diamond-tipped blade, you must
follow these instructions:
• The working pressure must be similar to that exerted
by the weight of the machine itself.
• Always keep the blade perpendicular to the surface
you are cutting. Do not cut at an angle.
• Stop every so often and allow the machine to operate
without a load, which permits the blade to cool down.

5. ON/OFF SWITCH

The switch found on the grip allows you to start or stop
the machine without letting go.
To prevent this switch from being activated acciden-
tally, it can only function if the safety catch has first
been pressed.
6. CONNECTING THE DUST COLLECTOR
• Cutting building materials produces a large amount
of dust, therefore it is essential that the machine be
8
connected to an aspirator.
It is also recommended to connect the machine to a dust
collection system when using the saw blade on wood.
To connect the machine to Virutex AS182K, AS282K,
AS382L or ASC482U vacuum cleaners, or to another
external collection source, one end of the suction tube
7045832 included on the appliance should be connected
to the dust collector connection (C, Fig. 3) on the machine
and the other end to the chosen external collection source.

7. ADJUSTING THE CUTTING DEPTH

Unplug the machine from the electrical
outlet before making any adjustments on it.
To adjust the cut depth, keep in mind the diameter of
the blade you are using.
The saw blade has a diameter of 200 mm, and the
diamond-tipped blade a diameter of 180 mm.
The index (A3, Fig. 1) shows the millimetre gauge, with
one arrow indicating the cutting depth for the 200 mm
blade, and the other arrow indicating the depth for the
180 mm blade.
To adjust the cutting depth, loosen the knob (A, Fig. 1),
move the stop rule (O, Fig. 1) to the desired depth on
the gauge and retighten the knob (A, Fig. 1).
When cutting a seated frame with the saw blade, always
measure the width of the frame and avoid exceeding
this depth to prevent damage to the blade.
8. CUTTING
WITH THE HARD METAL SAW BLADE:
Before proceeding to cut a frame or crossbeam, exa-
mine it very carefully and remove all screws, nails and
metal objects embedded in the cutting area that might
damage the saw blade.
Position the machine so that its base rests against the
wall and its front against the frame. Gently push the
machine forward against the frame until it reaches the
maximum cutting depth and move the machine slowly
to cut along the first side of the frame.
Repeat the same procedure on the three remaining
sides of the frame.
To assist with its lateral movement, the machine is
equipped with two support rollers (B, Fig. 2 and 3) that
prevent it from becoming stuck when it encounters
erosion or paint defects on the old frame.
With the hard metal saw blade and the front fence:
Old frames may be cut using the front fence as a
reference (EF, Fig. 3 and 6) on the inside of the frame
being cut (Fig. 3).
To mount the front fence support (S, Fig. 6), unscrew the
two screws (K, Fig. 6) that fasten the handle and insert
the fence support between the base and the handle,
