SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
In order to use this product correctly, read these instructions carefully. Please keep instructions for
future reference.
HOW TO USE
TO INSTALL BATTERIES (not included) fig.3
1. Open battery cover to insert batteries in correct polarities as illustrated inside battery
compartment. (
2. Close compartment by sliding battery cover as diagram shown.
TO SHARPEN PENCIL (fig.4)
1. Push pencil vertically downwards into sharpening hole. Do not press too hard but just hold
pencil firmly, then unit will work automatically to sharpen pencil.
2. Withdraw pencil after 2-4 seconds and motor will stop automatically.
TO EMPTY PENCIL SHAVINGS (fig.5)
1. Slide receptacle cover horizontally away from main unit to dispose shavings.
2. Dispose shavings over basket by shaking unit and receptacle cover gently.
3. Engage receptacle cover back and unit will be ready to use.
CAUTION
Use this unit to sharpen wooden pencils only. Do not insert your finger into the sharpening hole, or
insert any other substances such as metallic, plastic, paper, or leather form objects. All these will
cause damages to user and device. (fig.6)
ABOUT BATTERIES
1. Remove batteries when unit is not used for a long period to avoid damage from battery
leakage.
2. Do not use new and old or mixed types batteries simultaneously.
WHEN RECEPTACLE COVER IS DISENGAGED (fig.7)
1. Do not touch cutter by your finger, otherwise you may be injured by the cutter blade.
2. Do not sharpen pencil or attempt to start unit while receptacle cover is disengaged. The circuit-
break feature is necessary and essential to protect user's safety within cleaning process.
CAUTIONS DURING CLEANING
1. Use brush only to clean shavings inside receptacle but never use any metallic articles
otherwise may cause danger to user and may damage cutter.
2. Only receptacle cover can be washed under tap water if it is too dirty. Do not immerse main
unit into water because water will damage motor and circuit.
3. Clean the main unit with a damp cloth only. Do not use solvents such as alcohol, benzene or
thinner. (fig.8)
