START-UP
To start-up the filtering equipment, follow these steps
•
Check that all connections in the installation are correct and well secured.
•
Ensure that the water level of the swimming pool is sufficient to cover half the hinged cover of the
skimmer (fig. 6). The pump should never be allowed to operate without water, otherwise the mechanical seal
could be damaged causing water to leak.
•
Before starting-up the equipment for the first time, the pump should be primed. To do this, place the
CLOSED tab of valve A in the PORT1 position, then remove the cover from the pump pre-filter and fill the pre-
filter with water (fig. 18). Close the pre-filter cover.
•
Check that the covers of both the filter and the pump's pre-filter are properly closed.
•
Place the CLOSED tab of valve A in the PORT 2 position (filtration position) (fig. 19).
CAUTION: the position of the valves is indicated by the tab on the handle marked CLOSED. The position of this
tab should be oriented with the PORT indicated in each case (fig. 19).
•
Place the timer switch in position I (fig. 20). Place the pump protection switch of the control panel in the
ON position (connection) (fig. 21).
•
To turn the equipment off, place the pump switch in the OFF position (disconnection) (fig. 21).
4.1. PROGRAMMING THE TIMER-PROGRAMMER
•
The control panel has a timer-programmer to automate filtering times, start-up and shutdown of the
equipment. To programme this function, follow these steps (this may vary depending on the timer model):
•
Make sure that the pump switch is in the OFF position (disconnection) (fig. 21).
•
To set the time: remove the transparent cover from the timer. Turn the inside dial of the timer in a
clockwise direction until the current time is lined up with the arrow (triangle) on the base (fig. 22).
•
To set the operation time: the timer has 48 tabs, each of which is equivalent to half an hour. The tabs
can be raised (off) or pressed (on). Set the operation time by pressing the required tabs (fig. 23). Setting a daily
filtering time of 8 hours (16 tabs) is recommended.
•
To start-up automatic operation: the timer-programmer has a two position (I or II) switch. Position I
starts the manual operation of the pump. On the other hand, position I allows the timer tabs to control the on or
off function of the pump (fig. 20). NOTE: do not force the timer trigger when putting it into position I, as if the
activated timer tab is pressed, the trigger will move to position I.
•
Replace the transparent cover on the timer.
5. OPERATION
The filtration unit can perform four different functions: filtration of the water, suction for a vacuum head,
emptying the pool and lighting it.
•
Never stand on the cover of the filtration box or the front module.
•
The cover of the filtration box should ALWAYS be closed with lock and key.
•
Do not allow children or adults to handle or sit on the equipment.
•
Never use the front module as a diving board to dive into the pool.
•
Never use the front module as a support for getting out of the pool.
•
Keep the space for the skimmer (where the basket is located) free of objects.
•
Keep the skimmer baskets and the pre-filter of the pump clean.
5.1. OPERATION: WATER FILTERING
The skimmer is the filtering element which collects water from the surface. The water passes through the
skimmer basket. The larger particles remain trapped in the basket, and the impurities which cannot be retained
pass through to the cartridge filter where they are filtered. For the water filtering operation, follow these steps:
•
Place the pump switch in the OFF position (disconnection) (fig. 21).
•
Place the CLOSED tabs of valves A in the PORT 2 position and B in the PORT 3 position respectively
(filtration position). Remember that the position is indicated by the CLOSED tab (fig. 19).
•
To programme an automatic timed filtering operation, set the programmer as described in the
Programming the timer section of this manual. If you wish to start-up the filtering operation manually, place the
timer switch in position I (fig. 20) and turn on the pump by placing the switch in the ON position (connection)
(fig. 21).
•
To stop the filtering operation, place the pump switch in the OFF position (disconnection) (fig. 21). If you
wish to leave the pump in the automatic timed filtering position, leave the pump switch in the ON position (fig.
21) and the timer trigger in position I, without forcing it (fig. 20).
