1 Connecting the Hardware
Power
If your Internet connection is through an Ethernet cable from the wall instead of through a DSL / Cable / Satellite modem, connect
the Ethernet cable directly to the router's WAN port, then follow
1.1. Turn off the modem, and remove the backup battery if it has one.
1.2. Connect the WAN port of your router to a LAN port (from a wall or a modem) with an Ethernet cable.
1.3. Turn on the modem, and then wait about one minute for it to restart.
1.4. Power on the router with the provided power adapter, then wait for one minute.
