PRIOR TO FITTING
1. Check that all the parts shown are included in the Kit.
2. Check the condition of each individual part.
3. Park the vehicle in a stable manner.
4. Take the key out of the ignition.
5. Protect all parts removed from the vehicle.
6. Be careful not to damage any vehicle parts during fi tting.
If you not sure if you do a special work step, you should ask your next SUZUKI dealer.
STEP-BY-STEP FITTING GUIDE
The original wiring harness for this model are equipped with two connectors.
They are dedicated for Alarm System. The features of these two connectors are; one-way connector
and four ways connectors with plastic cover. They are located on the left side,
Photo 1: Fit the connector on the alarm's harness onto the control unit, insert the rubber hood into its housing
(1) and secure it using a Cable tie (2).

Clean the bottom of the control unit and stick down the Double-sided adhesive tape provided in the kit (6).
Photo 2: Remove the main saddle (A), take off the back carrier (B), remove the two lateral rear side fairings (C)
and remove the registration plate support/rear lights assembly (D).
Photo 3: The alarm control unit will be accommodated in the rear storage compartment in front of the tool
bag (E). Use a cloth to clean the area where the control unit will be located. Take the protective backing off the
double-sided adhesive tape and stick the control unit into position, pressing down the unit for at least 20-30
sec.
Photo 4: Route the alarm-harness and the antenna as shown (F).
Photo 5: Place the connectors for connecting up the alarm (H) and (G) to the rear and take the "closed" con-
nector off the latter. Locate connector (I) for connection of the direction indicators. Make the electrical con-
nections between the alarm harness and the original wiring. Also connect the six-pin connectors to the rear
lights connectors.
Photo 6: Place the LED on the left bike fairing (L) and link the 2-pin connector to the harness counterpart.
Assemble all dismounted covers and parts in the opposite way of dismounting.
HOW TO ENABLE THE ALARM SYSTEM
Enabling the alarm system
The alarm must be initiated to make it operational. To do this, turn the ignition key OFF-ON-OFF.
The alarm system's LED (L) will now fl ash, indicating how many remote controls have been paired up to the
system by fl ashing the appropriate number of times (two are supplied as standard).
The system is now operational. Please refer to the user manual, supplied with the Alarm Kit item code 990D0 –
ALARM – 000 for further details and specifi cations.
