Do not use any accessories that have not been specially designed and recommended for
this electric tool by the manufacturer. The correct fit of accessories on the electric tool
alone does not guarantee their safe use.
The permissible speed of the accessory must be at least equal to the specified maximum
speed on the electric tool. Accessories that rotate faster than the maximum speed may
break and fly off the machine.
The external diameter and thickness of the accessory must correspond to the dimen-
sions of the electric tool. Incorrectly dimensioned accessories cannot be adequately
shielded or controlled.
Accessories with a threaded insert must fit precisely onto the grinding spindle of the electric
tool. On accessories secured by a flange, the mounting hole must conform precisely to the
shape of the flange. Accessories that do not conform precisely to the mounting fixture on the
electric tool cause irregular rotation and heavy vibrations, which may result in loss of control.
Do not use any damaged accessories. Check accessories such as grinding discs for chips
and cracks, backup pads for tears and heavy abrasions or wear, and wire brushes for
loose or broken wires before each use. If the electric tool or accessory has fallen down,
check it for damage or use an undamaged accessory. Once you have checked and inserted
the accessory, ensure that you and any persons near you stay clear of the rotating acces-
sory and allow the device to run at maximum speed for one minute. A damaged acces-
sory will usually break during this test run.
Wear personal protective equipment. Depending on the application, wear full facial
protection or protective goggles. If appropriate, wear a dust mask, hearing protection,
protection gloves or a protective apron, which keeps you protected from fine particles of
ground material. Protect your eyes against flying particles that might be created during
various applications. A dust mask or breathing protection mask must filter any dust pro-
duced when using the machine. Exposure to loud noise may lead to hearing loss.
Ensure that others keep a safe distance to your working area. Anyone who enters the
working area must wear personal protective equipment. Pieces of the workpiece or
broken accessories may fly off and cause injury, even outside the direct proximity of the
working area.
Only hold the device by the insulated handles when performing work during which the
accessory may hit concealed electrical cables or the power cable of the device. Metal parts
may conduct electricity on contact with live power lines, leading to electric shock.
Keep the power cable away from the rotating accessory. If you lose control of the device,
the power cable may be severed or snagged, and your hand or arm may be drawn into
the device.
Never put down the device before the accessory has come to a complete stop.
The rotating accessory may come into contact with the surface it is placed on, causing
loss of control over the device.
Never leave the device running while carrying it. Your clothing may accidentally get
caught in the rotating accessory, leading to physical injury.
Regularly clean the ventilation slots of the device. The engine fan draws dust into the
housing and heavy deposits of metal dust may cause electrical hazards.
Never use the electric tool near flammable materials.
Sparks can ignite these materials.
Never use accessories that use liquid coolant. The require of water or other liquid
coolants can lead to electrical shock.
