V. 2. INSTALLATION OF THE BATTERIES
- Open the lid protecting the battery.
- Insert the supplied AAA battery, taking care to observe the correct polarity. A polarity error can dam-
age your appliance and compromise the guarantee. Never insert rechargeable batteries. Employ
only single-use batteries. Do not mix new batteries with used batteries.
- Replace the lid.
Do not dispose of your used batteries with your household waste. Take your used batteries to
a collection centre. Where the appliance is not to be used for some time, be sure to remove
the batteries from the appliance in order to prevent the leakage of liquids that could damage
the unit.
V. 3. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR EFFECTIVE USE
The ZAP'X™ head lice comb must be used on dry hair.
Make sure that the appliance is not damp or wet during use.
It is recommended that you use a repellent treatment (cream, shampoo, etc.) after use of the ZAP'X™,
so as to prevent any fresh infection.
VI. USE OF THE ZAP'X
TM
1. Press the On/Off switch upwards. A sound resembling a hum indicates that your comb is working
and ready for use.
2. Hold the comb at an angle of 45° to the scalp. The black bulbs located at the ends of the teeth must
be positioned facing the scalp. The lice are generally to be found in the warmer areas of the head,
such as near the neck and below a ponytail.
3. Move the comb slowly through the hair, preferably lock by lock, for a more effective result. The di-
rection of the brushing can from the bottom up or vice versa, taking care to maintain the 45° angle.
4. The humming sound stops briefly each time a louse is destroyed. If the hum does not resume after
5 seconds, use the small cleaning brush supplied with your appliance, in order to eliminate any lice
caught in the teeth of the comb. During brushing, short-circuits due to contact between adjacent
teeth can also lead to a silencing of the appliance.

5. Take the time to comb the hair in depth. Make sure that all the lice have been destroyed, and that
the nits have been correctly released and removed.
6. You can use the ZAP'X™ head lice comb as often as necessary in any given day.
7. In order to prevent a return of the lice, it is recommended that you apply a repellent after using the
head lice comb, especially if the child is mixing with others.
8. In confirmed periods of infection, frequent use of the ZAP'X™ is recommended,
preferably at night before bedtime.
VII. SERVICING THE APPLIANCE
Be sure to clean your head lice comb after every use.
Never use the appliance on another member of the family without first having disinfected the head
lice comb.
- Press the On/Off switch of the appliance in order to switch it off. To be extra careful, you can also
remove the battery.
- Clean the appliance by gently disinfecting the surface of the appliance and the teeth of the comb,
using a tissue soaked in ethyl alcohol (a 70% solution).
- The teeth of the comb represent a fragile part of the appliance. Take care not to damage them, as
this can lead to short circuiting of your ZAP'X™
- Wait until the appliance is totally dry before using it again.
