Changing Batteries.

1. Change the batteries using only the assembly key supplied with the
CompactReader.
2. Hold the upper shell and carefully insert the assembly key into the
housing from below in order to snap open the upper and lower shells.
Make sure to hold the upper shell tightly.
3. Remove the upper shell with the electronic components.
4. Remove the batteries from the electronic components.
5. Do not touch the contacts of the new batteries with your bare hands.
Place the batteries in the appropriate slots. Make sure that the polari-
ty is correct, i.e. insert the batteries with the (+) pole pointing up.
6. Snap the upper shell back onto the lower shell.
7. Please ensure that the upper and lower shells snap together correctly
in order to prevent the two halves of the housing coming apart.
8. Then test the function of the CompactReader using an authorised
card.
