Requirement for RS485 overvoltage pro-
tection
RS485 overvoltage protection base element 3012741 RS485
1 x overvoltage protection module plug
Install RS485 overvoltage protection
↻ NOTE: Lack of voltage and current ensured on the PV inverter.
1 Unfasten the housing cover of the PV inverter using the 6 screws and remove
carefully [
T_25]
2 Open the packaging of the RS485 SPD kits and remove components.
NOTE: Clamp the RS485 base element for overvoltage protection at the inten-
ded position in accordance with the drawing on the top hat rail from bottom
to top.
3 The following colour coding must be observed for the internal/external RS485
cable:
Data A => white (WH); Data B => blue (BU); GND => violet (VT)
4 The internal RS485 cable is to be connected to the overvoltage socket on the
socket.
NOTE: For the input/output on the RS485 externally the output of the over-
voltage protection socket should be assigned twice.
5 Insert the RS485 cable through the interface cable fitting in the connection
area.
6 Strip the RS485 cable [approx. 20 mm] and remove the insulation from the in-
dividual wires [8 mm].
7 Fit wires with wire sleeves and clamp onto the RS485 base element according
to the connection diagram [ S_M3 /
8 Connect the output cable with RS485 plug (included with the overvoltage kit)
to the RS485 base element and insert the RS485 plug into the RS485 socket on
the communication board.
9 Fix the output cable to the cable guide.
