Service information side cases KTM Adventure
Before using the cases please observe the following instructions!
With the side cases case mounted, especially when loaded, the handling
of the machine can change due to a higher side wind sensitivity; further-
more this may also impact while driving curves or reducing speed. Drive
with caution through strong winds. Slowly approach to the recommended
speed of 130km/h because of the changed handling of the motobike.
Always use two side cases and make sure that the loading is equally on
the two side cases and cannot glide. Under all circumcances avoid dri-
ving with only one side case.
Do not load the side cases with more than 15 kg each.
Never exceed 130 km/h while operating your motobike with side cases.
Check that all catches are correctly closed and locked while driving!
Do not use side cases which have been damaged in any way.
Be careful with moving the machine in a limited space: the width of the
vehicle is considerably larger with the side cases assembled.
Ensure that the side cases do not come into contact with hot exhaust pipes.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE:

Please clean your cases and top case with a warm soap and water solu-
tion 50°C and a soft cloth or a sponge. Rinse with clear water and let the

cases dry. Afterwards, apply a silicone spray generously to the inside and
outside (including all fitting locks) and polish the corresponding parts with
a dry cloth.The side cases always have to be stored closed in order to keep
them waterproof (the moulds of the case can distort).
Attention: Do not use organic solvents such as benzin or diluent.

Note:
The water tanks integrated in the trunk system (volume approx. 3 liters)
can be utilized by mounting the water tap.
To mount, drill a hole (Ø 7mm) in the center between the two threads. Do
not drill deeper than 15mm, otherwise you may damage the inside of the
tanks.
Remove the sieve [1] from the water tap (585.07.003.000) and fasten
with 2 M6x16 screws to a max. torque of 5 Nm.

Remove from the water tap 585.07.00.3000 the O-Ring 11x1,8 and
replace it with the O-Ring 11,3x2,4 ( KTM No. 0770116241 ).
