Î
ment [C] clockwise until the chain tension is

The cutting chain [A] is correctly tensioned when
Î
it snaps back into place after it has been pulled
3 mm away from the cutting bar   [B] by applying
light pressure with the index finger and thumb F .
Note
The cutting chain must not sag, but it should
be possible to pull it away from the cutting
bar by about 3 millimetres F .
Note
Do not over-tension the chain. This increas-
es wear and shortens the service life of the
chain and cutting bar.
As soon as the chain tension is correct, tighten the
Î
locking button for blade adjustment and flip the
lock tab on the locking button back down.
Note
Make sure that the locking button is properly
tightened so that the blade (cutting bar) is
correctly positioned.
Note
If the chain is new, check the tension more
frequently during the first two hours of
operation, as a new chain always stretches
slightly.
