Instruction manual
With its ergonomic and compact shape, the Chicco Digital
Scale weighs baby from the first few days with a capacity
ranging from 30 g to 20 kg. The 10 g resolution also
allows the measurement of small variations in weight; a
sophisticated anti-vibration program stabilises weighing to
measure accurately and quickly the weight of the baby even
when he is moving.

WARNINGS
• This scale is are only to be used for domestic purposes
and cannot be used for public use or for commercial
transactions.
• Always lift the scale when moving it. Do not drag or scrape
it as it may become damaged or its functioning may be
altered.
• Always use the scale with the utmost care.
• Never leave baby on the scale unattended!
• Only rest the scale on flat, stable surfaces.
• Never place weights on the scale exceeding its maximum
capacity (20kg).
• Where the scale is not to be used for long periods, remove
the batteries from the battery compartment.
• Keep the scale and the components of the packaging out of
the reach of children.
• After having removed the appliance from its packaging, ensure
that the scale is intact and that there is no visible damage. If in
doubt, do not use it and only contact the retailer.
• Do not immerse the scale in water or other liquid, do not
put it under a jet of water or allow water to get into it,
or use it in the proximity of sources or accumulations of
water: the scale could be damaged or its functioning could
be altered.
• Product features may be subject to change without notice.
HOW TO USE
1. PREPARATION
Remove the battery compartment cover on the bottom of
the scale (Fig. 1), insert the batteries supplied, taking care
to observe the correct polarity as indicated on the inside of
the compartment and replace the cover correctly. Position
the scale on a horizontal smooth and stable surface without
dragging it or scraping it along the surface (Fig. 2). Never
place weights on the scale exceeding their maximum
capacity (20kg).

2.2 WEIGHT MEASUREMENT

When the scale display indicates

ATTENTION: the scale is equipped with an automatic
device to stabilise the weight to eliminate the effects of
measuring interference caused by the inevitable movements
of baby. The waiting time may vary depending on the
movements of baby. When the weight has stabilised, the
display will flash 3 times, and after the third flash the weight
of the baby will appear (Fig. 6). The scale will automatically
switch off after 30 seconds (Fig. 7).
ATTENTION: with weights greater than 20 kg, the
scale will show the following error message
(Fig. 8).
3. FLAT BATTERIES

3.1 REMOVAL, REPLACEMENT AND INSERTION OF THE BATTERIES
Remove the battery compartment cover on the bottom of
the scale (Fig. 9) and remove the batteries. Insert the new
batteries ensuring that they are of the same type or equiva-
lent to the one indicated, being careful to observe correct
polarity as indicated on the inside of the compartment; re-
place the cover correctly.
• The batteries must only be replaced by an adult.
• Use alkaline batteries equal or equivalent to those indicated
in this manual.
• Do not mix different types of batteries or flat batteries with
new ones.
• Do not leave batteries or any tools within the reach of chil-
dren.
• Do not short-circuit the battery poles.
• In case of prolonged non-use of the product, always remove
the batteries.
• Always remove flat batteries from the product to avoid any
loss of fluid that can damage it.
• Dispose of flat batteries by recycling, do not throw away, do
not dispose of in fire or in municipal waste.
• If the batteries are leaking liquid, replace them imme-
diately, making sure to clean the battery compartment;
thoroughly wash your hands if they have come into contact
with the liquid.
• Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries:
they may explode.
• Using rechargeable batteries is not advisable as doing so
may reduce the functionality of the product.
• The product is not designed to run on replaceable lithium
batteries.
WARNING: improper use may create hazardous con-
ditions.

4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Clean the scale by using only a cloth dampened with water,
do not use abrasive products or chemicals. Do not soak or
immerse the scale in water. When not in use, store the scale
in a cool dry place protected from light and/or heat sources,
avoiding placing objects on top of them.
