The table indicates how many briquettes you you need for baking. By switching the numbers from the
top and the numbers from the bottom, you will know how many briquettes you need for simmering
soup and stew. By the way: for braising and roasting, simply divide the total amount of briquettes by
2. Put one half of the briquettes on the lid and the other half underneath the Dutch Oven.
Please keep in mind that these numbers only serve as a point of reference and can vary
according to the type of briquettes used, the ambient temperature and the weather. As
a basic rule, it is better to start with fewer briquettes and to add some more if necessary.
To ensure even heat, you should turn the lid regularly every 10 to 20 minutes. After about 50 - 60
minutes it is advisable to replace the briquettes with new ones.
