■ Unplug the charger when there is no
battery pack in it.
■ Keep the charger stored in normal room
temperature. Do not store it in excessive
heat. Do not use in direct sunlight.
LUBRICATION
All of the motor bearings in this product are
lubricated with a sufficient amount of high-
grade oil for the life of the unit under normal
operating conditions. Therefore, no further
lubrication is required.
BAR NOSE LUBRICATION
See Figures 27, page vii
■ Clean the bar nose. Using a disposable
lube gun, insert the applicator into the
lubrication hole and inject grease until it
appears at the outside edge of the bar nose
sprocket.
■ Repeat the lubrication procedure until all
of the bar nose sprocket teeth have been
greased.

Removing the guide bar and chain:
■ Place the product on a suitable flat surface.
■ Loosen the locking knob and remove the
cover. (Fig. 28)
■ Remove bar and chain assembly from
support bolt. (Fig. 29)
Installing the guide bar and chain:
Never start the motor before
DANGER!
installing the guide bar, chain, cover, and
locking knob. Without all these parts in place,
the clutch can fly off or explode, exposing the
user to possible serious injury.
WARNING!
Keep all parts of the body
away from the pole saw when the pole saw
is operating. Before you start the pole saw,
make sure the pole saw is not contacting
anything.
A moment of inattention while operating pole
saw may cause entanglement of your clothing
or body with the saw chain.
Always use a saw chain
WARNING!
designed as "low-kickback" or a saw chain
which meets the low-kickback requirements!
A standard saw chain (a chain which does
not have the kickback reducing guard links)
should only be used by an experienced
professional operator!
To install guide bar:
■ Use only a guide bar and saw chain as
listed in the Product Specifications of this
manual.
■ Lay the saw chain into the groove of the bar
with the cutting edges of the chain pointing in
the rotational direction shown on the bar.

■ Ensure that the guide bar tension disc is
adjusted to the outermost position away from
the bar; turn the disc counterclockwise if
