Problem
The pump does not
pump water, & the
motor is not running
The pump supplies a
limited amount of water
or the pump does not pump
water, and the motor is
running
The pump works only
intermittently
Jet of water sprays out
Water is leaking from
the outlet of the pump

Troubleshooting

Possible Cause
No electricity
Plug inserted incorrectly.
Circuit breaker is tripped.
Blocked impeller
Damaged motor
Pump has overheated
Pump full of air
Obstructed inlet
Obstructed pipe/outlet
Worn impeller
Solid particles prevent
the free rotation of the
impeller
The temperature of the
fluid is too high
Fluid too dirty.
Faulty motor
Air vent hole operating
hole is to allow air to exit the
pump easier.
Inlet assembly not tight
enough
Hozelock connector not
correctly attached
Remedy
Check that the electricity
supply is turned on & that the
pump is correctly plugged in.
Reset electricity supply. If the
circuit breaker trips once
more contact a specialised
electrician
Unplug from the electricity
supply and remove possible
obstructions from the
impeller
Contact Hozelock customer
services for assistance.
Pump contains thermal
protection - check if pump
case is hot, and if so, allow to
cool
Unplug from the electricity
supply and disconnect outlet
hose, submerge in water and
allow all air to escape,
reconnect hose and power.
Remove inlet strainer and
foam, clean and replace.
Remove obstructions or kinks
and clean outlet filter.
Contact Hozelock customer
services for assistance.
Clean inlet and impeller.
Only use with fluids below
35ºC
Empty and clean the water
butt, refill with fresh rain/
tap water
Contact Hozelock customer
services for assistance.
This is not a problem. The
pump to make priming the
