PLEASE READ IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE OPERATING THIS RIVETER
1. This riveter is provided with the 1/4" nosepiece installed and is
also adjusted for the immediate use of 1/4" rivets. Change the
nosepiece to the correct rivet size to be installed if the size is other
than 1/4" before using this riveter.
2. This riveter is provided with 5 different size nosepieces to fit the
following size rivets: 3/32", 1/8", 5/32", 3/16" and 1/4". Always use
the same size nosepiece as the rivet being installed. Failure to do
so may result in improper operation, damages, premature failure
of components, or may also not allow the mandrel to release from
the jaws, leaving the riveter inoperable without disassembling.
3. This riveter is adjusted to install all sizes provided with the riveter.
Although, if an adjustment is necessary due to various conditions
such as abnormal rivet mandrel sizes, worn parts from excessive
use, various lengths of rivets, various thickness of materials being
riveted, or for repositioning the location of the handles for better
leverage, please use the following instructions to adjust the riveter.
a. Assure the correct size nosepiece is installed.
b. Loosen the #4 Adjust Nut.
c. Place the riveter upright with the nozzle facing straight upward.
d. With the handles in the inward position, place the correct size
rivet in the nosepiece.
e. Pull the handles outward until the rivet drops down against the
nosepiece. The rivet should drop slightly before the handles are
fully extended outward.
f. If the rivet does not drop with the handles fully extended
outward, pull the handles inward, turn the #3 Sleeve
clockwise 2 turns and pull the handles outward until the rivet
drops down against the nosepiece.
Repeat if necessary until the rivet drops down against the
nosepiece slightly before the handles are fully extended outward.
g. If the rivet drops down against the nosepiece too soon, pull the
handles inward, turn the #3 Sleeve counterclockwise 2
turns and pull the handles outward until the rivet drops down
against the nosepiece. Repeat if necessary until the rivet drops
down against the nosepiece slightly before the handles are fully
extended outward.
h. If the rivet does not drop down with the handles fully extended
outward after adjustments are made, remove #3 Sleeve
by turning counterclockwise and assure the #6 Jaw Holder is
not loose and all of the (3) #7 Jaws are aligned and evenly
protruding from the Jaw Holder.
i. Tighten the #4 Adjust Nut after the #3 Sleeve is properly
adjusted.
The heavy-duty riveter has
5 different size nose pieces
to fit the following size
rivets: 3/32", 1/8", 5/32",
3/16" and 1/4".
They are located on
the bottom of the bottle

TOOL OPERATION

1. To install a rivet, open the handles outward as far as they will go.
2. Put the desired size rivet in the end that corresponds with the
installed nose piece.
3. With the handles spread wide, push the rivet into the pre-drilled
hole and put a slight amount of pressure on the rivet and work
piece. Then squeeze the handles together until the rivet head pops
loose form the mandrel.
4. Sometimes one squeeze will not be sufficient to separate the rivet
from the mandrel as longer and larger diameter rivets may require
more than one squeeze.
5. Re-spread the rivet handles and slide the nose piece against the
rivet button and squeeze once again until the rivet pops loose
from the mandrel.
When breaking lose the riveter from
the rivet, please assume a firm stance
as you may lose your balance which
could result in serious injury.
Automotive
For the automotive industry, window door regulators will generally
require the use of either steel or aluminum rivets depending upon
the application. The long nose piece cylinder will allow easy access
to the inner door construction while leaving the handles ample
room to operate. Due to the compound hinges, this hand riveter will
generally require less physical effort. The technician will find that
this riveter is also useful for affixing a number of parts where
riveting is required.
Marine
For the Marine industry, this riveter will work very well for affixing
non structural aluminum parts that have come loose from vibration
and the constant flexing of the hull as well as repairing damages
that take place on aluminum boats from time to time.
Industrial
Machine, sheet metal, fabrication and welding shops will also have
many uses for this long nose riveter that offers the use of such a
wide range of rivet sizes.
