Equipment Setup and Use:
3.1 Prior to use:
a. Inspect the product looking for any visible damage or sharp edges that could
be caused by a drop or impact during storage.
b. Make sure product has been properly cleaned and disinfected and wiped dry
prior to each use.
c. Initial use should not begin until after the users have been instructed by the
manufacturer's representative.
d. A routine instructional program must be implemented by the facility for proper
usage instruction for all personnel that may operate this accessory.
e. When lifting or articulating large patients, pay close attention to the patient
position as well as the positioning guidelines and limitations listed in the
operation instructions of the accessory and the surgical table.
f. As with the operation of any surgical table accessory, a certain amount of care
should be exercised to position the patient safely. Although the thick pads and
sheets substantially protect the patient, pinch points, located the joints of the
top section should always be considered. BE SURE THAT THE ARMS, HANDS AND
FINGERS OF THE PATIENT AND THOSE OF THE OPERATING ROOM PERSONNEL ARE
CLEAR OF ALL MOVING PARTS BEFORE MOVING THE TABLE AND POSITIONING
THE ACCESSORY. Proper restraints should always be used for patient safety.
g. The operator has the ultimate responsibility of preventing damage to the table
and surrounding equipment or possible injury to the patient or staff.
h. The operator must ensure proper positioning is maintained to prevent
compromising respiration, nerve pathways or circulation.

3.2 Setup:
Prepare the Surgical Table
a. Lower or remove the leg section from the surgical table.
b. If the table has a removable leg section, press the leg down on the pendant until
leg section castings are completely retracted.
Install the Slit Leg Section
a. Unscrew the Rail Lock Knob completely.
b. The clamp may be engaged over the accessory side rail at any point. The clamp
may also be slid on from the end of the accessory side rail.
