Warning! Certain medical conditions can affect user safety, if in doubt
please contact your doctor. Be aware of the hazards that could reduce
the performance of your equipment, and therefore the user's safety,
if exposed to extreme temperatures (<-30°C or > 50°C), prolonged
exposure to the elements (UV rays, humidity), chemical agents, electrical
constraints, twisting of the fall arrest system during use, sharp edges,
friction or cutting, etc.
Before each use, check: that the locking system is working and that the
fall indicator has not been activated (if installed on the connector). Check
that the absorber has not been activated. Check that the cable/webbing
is not cut, frayed or burnt. Check that the metal parts are not deformed
or oxidised, and check that the connectors are working properly (locking/
opening). The protective casings and the cover of the energy dissipater
must be in place and undamaged. Product markings must remain le-
gible. If there is any doubt as to the condition of the device, or after a
fall, it must not be reused (marking it with the words "DO NOT USE" is
recommended) and must be returned to the manufacturer or to a
qualified person appointed by the manufacturer. Do not remove, add or
replace any component of the product.
Chemical products: Put the system out of use if it is exposed to chemical
products, solvents or fuels which could affect its operation.
Technical specifications: Usable length (from connector to connector):
1.80 m. Webbing width: 25 mm - Material: polyester. Breaking strength
> 15 kN
COMPATIBILITY FOR USE
The device can be used with a fall arrest system as defined in the
product's factsheet (see standard EN363) to guarantee that the dyna-
mic force exerted on the user during the arrest of a fall is maxi 6 kN. A
fall arrest harness (EN361) is the only body support device permitted for
use. It may be dangerous to create your own fall arrest system in which
each safety function may interfere with another safety function. As such,
before each use, refer to the recommendations for use for each of the
system's components.
INSPECTIONS
The recommended service life of the equipment is 10 years (in accordan-
ce with the annual examination by a competent person authorised by
ABS Safety GmbH) for devices with a cable lanyard or webbing lanyard,
but it may be increased or reduced according to use and/or the results of
the annual inspections. The product must always be inspected if there is
any doubt or after a fall and at least annually by the manufacturer or the
manufacturer's representative, to ensure it is strong and therefore safe
for the end user. The product's factsheet must be completed (in writing)
after each check; the inspection date and the date of the next inspection
must be indicated on the factsheet, it is also advisable to specify the date
of the next inspection on the product.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE:
(these instructions must be strictly observed)
During transportation, keep the equipment away from any cutting edges
and in its packaging. Clean with water, wipe with a cloth and hang in a
ventilated room to dry naturally, ensuring that it is away from any direct
light or source of heat; the same applies for elements that may have got
wet during use. The device must be stored in a cool, dry and ventilated
room, and in its packaging.Allemand
