Measuring core temperature
Unfold the probe (4) and insert it into the
meat so that the tip is roughly in the middle
of the meat. Make sure that the tip is not
touching any bones in the meat. The probe
must not be unfolded more than 180 degrees
in relation to the starting position, otherwise
the swivel joint (5) will be damaged.
After a few seconds, the core temperature
appears on the display (1).
The display's background lighting turns
off after about 30 seconds and the meat
thermometer turns off completely after
about 3 minutes.
Wipe the probe clean with a damp cloth and
fold it back in again before putting the meat
thermometer into storage.
Measuring surface temperature
The probe must be folded in to measure
surface temperature using the infrared
probe.
Hold the meat thermometer so that the
infrared sensor (7) is approximately 5 cm
from the point to be measured and press
and hold the SCAN button (3). You get the
most accurate measurements by measuring
up close and briefl y. After about 1 second,
the measured surface temperature appears
on the display. When you release the SCAN
button, "HOLD" appears on the display and
the measurement result is held for about
30 seconds, after which time the meat
thermometer switches off .
The diameter of the measurement point
corresponds to 1/5 of the distance between
the infrared sensor and the measurement
point. If there is 5 cm between the infrared
sensor and the measurement point, the
diameter of the measurement point is 1 cm.
Setting the measurement unit
Unfold the probe and press and hold the
MODE button (2) for 3 seconds. "F/C" appears
on the display. Press the SCAN button one or
more times to switch between C (Celsius) and
F (Fahrenheit) and press the MODE button
twice to confi rm and exit the settings.
Adjusting the resolution
Unfold the probe and press and hold the
MODE button (2) for 3 seconds. "F/C" appears
on the display. Press the MODE button
again until the display shows "1°" or "0.1°".
Press the SCAN button one or more times
to switch between measurement results to
zero decimal places or one decimal place and
press the MODE button to confi rm and exit
the settings.
Calibration
Press the SCAN button and press and hold
the MODE button for 3 seconds until "0°C"
appears on the display.
Press the SCAN button one or more times
briefl y to calibrate the display by -2, -1, 0, +1
or +2 degrees.
Error messages
"LLL" or "HHH": The measured temperature is
outside the measurement range of the meat
thermometer.
"Lo": The battery is low and needs replacing.
