5. Handling, Operation
5.1 Centric position
The CA 3.0 features a precision centric lock which
can be activated in 3 possible positions:
Centric lock (4.0) closed
In this position the CA 3.0 can only be opened and
closed in centric position for occlusion checks to
be performed.
Centric lock (4.0) open
Retrusion lock closed
Protrusive, Bennett, balance movements as well
as immediate side shift (ISS) and all intermediate
movements can be physiologically reproduced in
this position.
Centric lock and retrusion lock open (5.0)
With the lock in this position, the retrusive move-
ment can also be performed.
5.2 Protrusive movement (6.0)
If the centric lock is open, the protrusive move-
ment can be performed as shown in the figure.
The horizontal condyle path inclination can be
adjusted from 0 – 60° by rotating the wheel.
5.3 Lateral and Bennett movement (7.0)
If the centric lock is open, the lateral movements
can be performed as shown in the figure. This
is done by applying backward pressure with the
thumb on one side on the appropriate joint.
5.4 Immediate side shift (ISS) (8.0)
If the centric lock is open, the immediate side shift
can be performed as shown in the figure. This is
done by pressing in the transverse direction on
one side with the index finger.
