4. If the autofocus was not satisfying, go to the Advanced tab.
On the Advanced tab, focus can be adjusted manually:
1. Click Open iris to open the iris to its maximum position. This gives the smallest depth of
field and provides the best conditions for focusing.
2. Focus is set in the Focus window. Use the mouse to move and resize the focus window.
3. Click in the Focus position bar to focus on a desired location.
Click the < or > button to move the focus position one step.
Click the << or>> button to move the focus position in multiple steps.
4. When satisfied, click Enable iris to enable the iris.
Set focus and zoom limits
These instructions are valid if you have selected Optical zoom for monitoring during camera
startup.
To set focus and zoom for a new preset position:
1. Go to PTZ > Preset Positions and set the focus and zoom for your preferred area in
the camera image.
2. Enter a name for your preset position in the Current position field and select Use
current position as Home.
3. Click Add to add your current position as a preset position.
4. Select your preset position in the Available positions drop-down list.
5. Click Go to to set the camera in your preset position.
6. Click Save.
To set limits for focus and zoom:
1. Go to Video & Audio > Focus & Zoom.
2. Select a value in the drop-down list for Zoom tele limit to limit the camera's maximum
zoom area.
The digital zoom level is indicated with the letter D.
3. To preview the zoom tele limit, click Go to.
4. Select a value in the drop-down list for Focus near limit to prevent the camera from
focusing on objects that are too close.
5. Click Save.
Note
You can still set focus and zoom in Video & Audio > Focus & Zoom, but your settings are
not saved after camera restart.
