Intended purpose

The recommended treatment of hypertrophic scars
and keloids in adults, young people and children is a
combination of silicone and compression. Combining
the compression garment's consistent surface pres-
sure with silicone can have a positive healing effect
on the scar. In addition, functionality and appearance
of the scarred area can be improved. Medical silicone
allows a moist environment to develop on the scar,
meaning that it does not dry out. It keeps the scar soft
and has a beneficial effect on the scar tissue. This
results in significant pain reduction and improvement
of the scar's elasticity.
Notes for use
Your specialist medical retailer will gladly show you
the correct way to use the product. The Juzo ScarPad
is a self-adhesive silicone sheet for scar treatment. It
is available as Juzo ScarPad Light small, Juzo ScarPad
Light, Juzo ScarPad Extra and Juzo ScarPad Strong.
The product offers a certified UPF 50 UV Protection
Factor in accordance with UV Standard 801. The UV
protection only applies to those body regions that are
covered with the ScarPad. The sheet can be individu-
ally adapted and cut to any required shape and size.
The Juzo ScarPad can be washed and used repeat-
edly. It should be worn under compression garments.
The Juzo ScarPad should be used as prescribed by
your doctor. Gradually increase the usage duration.
At the beginning of treatment, use the silicone sheet
for three hours every day. If your skin tolerates the
silicone sheet well, you can increase the wearing
duration by an hour per day, up to 23 hours. The slow
increase can help the skin to get used to the effect of
the silicone sheet. To ensure the best treatment result,
wear the sheet for at least twelve hours every day
after getting used to it.
Silicone sheet
1. First of all, thoroughly clean the scar and the
surrounding skin. Keep the scar tissue dry and free
from oils (Fig. 1).
2. Cut the silicone sheet to the required shape
and size. Ensure you're cutting round shapes, if
possible, rather than corners (Fig. 2). To guarantee
the best result, completely cover the scar with the
silicone sheet. Ideally, the silicone sheet should
extend beyond the scar by about 2 cm.
3. Remove the protective film from the silicone sheet
(Fig. 3).
4. Gently place the self-adhesive side of the silicone
sheet on the scar (Fig. 4).
5. Now carefully pull your compression garment over
the silicone sheet (Fig. 5).
When you remove the silicone sheet, please make
sure you loosen it in several places first, then carefully
pull it off. To care for your skin, use moisturising skin
cream after removing the silicone sheet.
Do not use ointments, creams, gels or lotions in
combination with the Juzo ScarPad.
Please note
Silicone sheets are intended for external use. Never
dry silicone sheets in the sun or close to heat sources.
Store the silicone sheets out of the reach of children.
Keep it out of the hands of children. For use only on
healed, closed skin. Silicone sheets are manufactured
in compliance with the highest quality standards. But
if you notice wear and tear on the edges, you can trim
them yourself. To do this, stick the silicone sheets on
plastic film and trim the edges. For hygiene reasons,
this product is intended for one person only.
