WARNING
The battery must be charged exclusively using
the battery charger (fig. 11.I). Other recharging
systems can irreversibly damage the battery.
WARNING
The battery must be recharged in an environment
protected from the weather, in the shade, at a
temperature ranging between +5 and + 35 °C.
NOTE
The battery can be recharged at any time,
even partially, with no risk of damaging it.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Do not perform any maintenance or
cleaning while recharging the batteries.
To recharge the battery:
• Bring the machine close to an earthed
power outlet (so as to avoid the use of
extensions) and remove the key;
• Lift the seat;
• Lift the cap of the charging socket (fig. 21.A);
• Connect the battery charger provided
to the power socket (fig. 22.A) with the
proper bayonet connector (fig. 22.B);
• Connect the battery charger to the mains
socket, by inserting the respective plug (fig. 23).
To recharge the battery, a socket with
a safety circuit breaker (fig. 24.A) is
supplied, if required, where the charging
cable must be connected (fig. 22.A).
The socket with a safety circuit breaker
must be connected to the mains socket and
a performance test must be carried out:
1. Press the "RESET" push-button
(fig. 24.B) to activate functioning. The
warning light must be "ON" (fig. 24.C).
2. Press the "TEST" push-button (fig. 24.D)
to perform the performance test. The
warning light must be "OFF" (fig. 24.C).
DANGER
If the performance test ends with a negative
result, the safety circuit breaker socket
is not required and should not be used.
If the performance test is successful,
it can be used and it is possible to
proceed with the charging phase.
Full charging takes about 2-8.5 hours (depending
on the battery and the charger), during which
the warning LEDs (Fig. 12.F) flash progressively.
When every single charge threshold is
reached, the respective LED remains on
permanently, while the others continue to flash.
The battery can be kept under charge indefinitely.
Charge status (SOC)
SOC > 80%
60% ≤ SOC < 80%
40% ≤ SOC < 60%
20% ≤ SOC < 40%
10% ≤ SOC < 20%
WARNING
It is possible to stop charging the battery when
the charge level is between LEDs 1 and 4. Do not
interrupt the charging phase when LED 5 flashes
but wait for it to be lit continuously. When all LEDs
are lit continuously the battery is fully charged.
NOTICE
The battery charging time could increase
if the machine has been used in heavy
working conditions, with a consequent
indication of battery overheating (chap.15).
NOTICE
If the battery is completely discharged,
the indicator LEDs remain off until the
minimum charge threshold is reached.
NOTE
When the charge level drops below the 10%
threshold, battery LED 1 starts flashing. The
cutting means disengage and it is necessary
to go back and recharge the battery.
When charging is complete, the charging
system reduces the flow of current
sufficient to maintain and restore the
charge of the battery to its ideal levels
