INSTRUCTION MANUAL (GB)
WARNING:
Before using the device read all
the instructions carrefully.
WARNING
1 - This converter can be connected directly to a battery or to
the cigarette lighter of a car or boat, of a Valex Polaris 1000
or Polaris 1500 with 12Vdc output voltage and it supplies
an alternating voltage of 230Vac. It is suitable for powering
electrical and electronic appliances such as power supplies
for: mobile phones, computers, cameras, video cameras,
lighting devices etc...
2 - Do not power at 6Vdc or at 24Vdc
3 - Do not use the converter for long periods with the vehicle
engine switched off; it may discharge the battery completely.
4 - Switch off the appliances connected to the 230Vac socket
of the converter before taking the plug out of the cigar-lighter
socket
5 - Replace the fuse only and exclusively with fuses of the
same size. Using fuses taking more current may cause per-
manent damage to the converter and the cigar-lighter socket
in the vehicle.
6 - Make sure that the contacts in the cigar-lighter socket of
the vehicle are clean and dust-free; imperfect electrical
connections may produce harmful, dangerous heat at
the contact point.
7 - This converter supplies an alternating voltage of 230Vac;
there is a danger of electric shock. Do not insert metal objects
that conduct electricity into the outlet sockets.
8 -
Keep out of reach of children.
9 - Make sure that the converter ventilation slots are not ob-
structed during use; the surrounding temperature should be
between 10°C and 40°C
10 - Do not leave the converter in the sun when in operation.
11 - Protect it from water.
12 - The apparatus is also suitable for powering household
electrical appliances as long as their absorbed power does not
exceed the continuous power supplied by the converter.
13 - Do not use the converter near inflammable material or in
places where inflammable gas or fumes have accumulated
such as in vehicles near the battery seating.
14 - Do not open the case of the converter for any reason
what so ever.

When the converter has triggered due to overload the output
will automatically be switched off; to restore operation it is
necessary to reduce the absorbed power.
INSTALLATION and OPERATION
Insert the converter plug into the cigar-lighter socket of the vehicle,
of the boat or of the Valex Polaris 1000 or Polaris 1500, making
sure that the voltage is 12Vdc; it is also possible to connect two
cables with corresponding crocodile clips to be attached directiy
to the terminals of a 12Vdc battery as shown in fig.A. Turn the
converter switch to the "ON" position. lnsert the plug of the ap-
pliance to be powered into the output socket of the converter. This
converter is able to supply a continuous power output of 300W
and a peak power of 600W.
N.B.: The maximum power of the 300 W converter can only be
drawn through direct connection to the battery, whereas when
using a cigarette lighter the power will be limited to 180 W due
to the presence of the 15 A fuse located inside the cigarette
lighter pin or the fuse in the vehicle's cigarette lighter circuit.
If the vehicle's cigarette lighter circuit has a lower capacity
than 15 A, in the case of overload it will disconnect before the
fuse located inside the pin.
For replacing the fuse inside the cigarette lighter pin, see
fig. B.
The converter is protected from overload by an electronic
circuit and from short circuit using two external fuses housed
in the rear part of the converter, fig. C.
When the converter is in protection from overload, that is if the
maximum deliverable power is exceeded, the output switches
itself off automatically; in order to re-enable operation, the
absorbed power must be reduced.
Without any apparatus attached, the converter absorbs a very
low current; however, it is advisable to disconnect it from the
cigarette lighter socket when the vehicle or the Polaris is not
in use for over 24 hours.
