Important! Always check during use of the lifeline that the tensioner crank handle is in folded position (see figure 2). Failure to follow this
instruction may lead to serious consequences in use and cause serious injury, or even the death of the user!
This lifeline must be used with a self-retracting or energy absorber lanyard fall arrest system which limits the fall arrest force to 6 kN. It is not recom-
mended to use this lifeline with a hanging/rope access work system.
NEVER CONNECT THE END OF THIS LIFELINE DIRECTLY TO A HARNESS!
For safety reasons, make sure that no obstacles are impeding the normal operation of the fall arrest system, connected to the anchorage point, before each
possible use. Ensure that the general set-up limits swinging in the event of a fall, and that the work is performed to limit the risk and the height of a fall.
This equipment must only be used by trained, competent and healthy persons, or under the supervision of a trained and competent person. Warning!
Certain medical conditions can affect user safety, if in doubt please contact your doctor.
Be aware of the hazards that could reduce the performance of your equipment and, therefore, the safety of the user in the case of: exposure to extreme
temperatures (<-30°C or >50°C); prolonged exposure to the elements (UV rays, humidity) or to chemical products; electrical constraints; the fall protec-
tion system becoming twisted when in use; or sharp edges, friction, cuts, etc.
Before and during use, we recommend that you make the necessary arrangements for a safe rescue, should this be required.
Before each use, check: the condition of the wire (not cuts, no wear, no abrasion, no cut threads, no corrosion, no abnormal marks, etc.), and pay special
attention to the heat shrink sleeving on the wire by the connector (1a). Check the condition of the casings, that the screws are in place and fastened
correctly, that there are no cracks... Inspect all the metal parts (no deformation, no sharp edges, no traces of oxidation) and the condition of the tension
indicator (no deformation) and make sure that the pins are in place and working.
Perform a functional test following the steps described in the paragraph Installation – Withdrawal, without applying tension to the line; during this
functional test, it is essential to check that when the tensioner crank handle is folded, it is impossible to unwind the wire.
Also check the condition of the connectors (no deformation, no sharp edges, no traces of oxidation) and in particular check their operation (closure AND
locking). In case of doubt regarding the condition of the device, the lifeline should no longer be reused and/or be returned to the manufacturer or to a
competent technician, approved by the manufacturer. After a fall, or in case of doubt, the product should not be reused and should be marked "OUT OF
SERVICE" (see paragraph entitled "INSPECTION").
The readability of the product's markings must be checked regularly.
Do not remove, add or replace any component of the product.
Chemical products: do not use the device if it should come into contact with chemical products, solvents or fuels that could affect its operation.

KRATOS SAFETY certifies that lifeline has been tested in accordance with standard EN 795:2012 Type C.
COMPATIBILITY FOR USE:
This equipment is for use with a fall arrest system as defined in the product data sheet (see standard EN363) to guarantee that the dynamic force exerted
on the user during the arrest of a fall is no greater than 6 kN. A fall arrest harness (EN361) is the only body support device that may be used. It can be
dangerous to create one's own fall protection system in which each safety function can interfere with another safety function. Therefore, it is important
to read the recommendations on using each component in the system before use.
INSPECTION:
The indicative service life of the product has no time limit, as long as an annual inspection is carried out by a competent person approved by KRATOS
SAFETY.
The equipment should be inspected if there is any doubt, or following a fall, and at least annually, by the manufacturer or a competent person authorised
by the manufacturer to check its strength and therefore the user's safety. The product data sheet should be completed (in writing) after each verification.
The date of inspection and date of the next inspection must be indicated on the data sheet. It is also recommended to put the date of the next inspection
on the product.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE: (These instructions must be strictly observed)
Clean the metal parts with a wet towel. Never dry the product in the sun or close to a heat source. Let the product dry naturally (never above 65°C),
in a dark, ventilated room. When you dry the product, you must always put it with the wire output downwards to avoid moisture entering the device.
Never disinfect the wire or the device. Never use chemical detergents or bleach. In case of contamination, stop using the product and remove it from
circulation, taking care to respect the environment. Keep the product in its original packaging. During transportation, keep the equipment away from
any cutting edges and in its packaging.
Only KRATOS SAFETY or a competent person are authorised to repair the product or modify the system. Repairs, modifications or adjustments that are
not authorised by KRATOS SAFETY may lead to serious accidents and falls.
The system must be stored in its packaging in a cool, dry and ventilated room.
Withdrawal:
To uninstall the lifeline, unfold
figure 3) a few degrees (15-20°) clockwise until the cable goes 1 to 2mm into the casing, then press
the push pin (3): the cable will automatically relax. Fold back the tensioner crank handle. Disconnect
the connector on the tension indicator side (1b) and rewind the cable with the rewinding wire wheel
(5). During rewinding, you must hear 'click-click-click'; if you do not hear this sound, the product
must not be reused again and must be sent for maintenance to a competent person. When the wire
is completely rewound, disconnect the second connector (1a). The lifeline is folded and ready to be
reused on another site or for another job on the same site!
