3.2 Fastening of cutting organs
Safe and economical operation requires the type of cutting
accessory mounted to be the ,most appropriate for the use
in question (Fig. 13). The right type of cutting accessory
for your specific need and the model you have chosen will
be provided either as standard or as an optional.
IMPORTANT: the appropriate safety guard
required by CE standards (Fig.14) must be
applied for each tool mounted, and in the case
of cutting heads, use only the nylon wire rec-
ommended by the manufacturer (never use
wire made of steel or other materials!). Make
sure that all tool mounted are original, bear
the seal of approval, and are recommended
by the manufacturer.
For machines equipped with nylon wire cutting heads,
the machine can be used either in the version with the
vibration-damping grip or the version with the handle-
bar.
For all other types of cutting element, use the version
of the machine with the handlebar.
Proceed as follows for the assembly of the cutting ac-
cessory with the respective safety guards:
Cutting heads with nylon wire (Fig. 15)
- Fastening: screw the cutting head into the threaded
shaft that exits from the bevel gear case (detail 1) by
tightening counter-clockwise and keeping the shaft
itself firmly in place with the insertion of the setscrew
wrench or a screwdriver (detail 3) through the slot in
the anti-tangling cover (detail 5) for the ring nut (detail
2) and the bevel gear case (detail 1) until the cutting
head itself (detail 4) is firmly locked in place on the
centring ring nut.
- Safety guard: use the safety guard with the holder
mounted equipped with the wire-cutter blade with
which it can be brought to the appropriate size.
Cutting heads with retracting blades for the cutting
of grass and weeds:
- Fastening: see the explanation provided for the edge-
cutting head with wire.
- Safety guard: use the safety guard without the black
strap.
Steel and nylon disks with 2 or more teeth:
- Fastening: remove the blind nut, the self-locking nut,
the flange and the ring nut from the bevel gear pair
case. Observing Fig. 16, insert the disk (Part. 5) onto
the threaded shaft protruding from the bevel gear pair
case (Part. 1) and house it in the centering ring nut
(Part. 2), and then insert the disk fixing flange (Part. 6)
and the support cup (Part 7) and then lock it in place
using the self-locking nut (Part. 8).
- Safety guard: use the safety guard without the black strap.
The disk support cup kit (Part. 9) can be provided
as an OPTIONAL (Fig. 16).
In order to lock the components securely in place, the
rotation of the smaller shaft must be prevented by in-
serting the hexagon wrench provided or a screwdriver
(see Part 3) in the slot in the bevel gear pair case and
the hole in ring nut: in this way, you will be able to
tighten all the elements together using the wrench pro-
vided (tightening torque = 3 kgm ± 0.25) (Fig. 17).
